DIRECTIONS TO DOWNTOWN FAIRFIELD
From campus and the Kelley Center (Admissions building), follow Loyola Drive up the slight hill, toward the University’s
exit and take a right onto North Benson Road. Proceed straight to the 2nd traffic light and take a right onto Barlow Road.
Continue straight to the 2nd stop sign and take a left onto Unquowa Road.
After going over the railroad station bridge, at the next intersection you will be in the heart of downtown Fairfield at the
Post Road (Rt. 1). Take a right to find street and lot parking. To see the beach area, take the next left off the Post Road onto
Reef Road and travel straight, about 1-1/2 miles to Long Island Sound. Take a left toward the public beaches.

Fairfield University’s scenic 200-acre campus is located in
the historic coastal community of Fairfield. Founded in 1639
and with a suburban population of nearly 57,000, the town
of Fairfield has a thriving downtown area just one-mile from
campus. The downtown area offers Fairfield students many
retail stores, restaurants, entertainment venues and 5 miles
of Long Island Sound coastline. Metro North railroad station,
also located downtown, provides convenient transportation to
and from New York City which is a little over one hour away.
While visiting Fairfield University, be sure to take a quick trip to
downtown Fairfield, park and walk around to enjoy the shops
and restaurants and get a flavor for all the town has to offer
Fairfield University students and their families.
FAIRFIELD UNIVERSITY BOOKSTORE
Be sure to visit the Fairfield University Bookstore, located at 1499 Post Road. The bookstore offers students and the
public a unique location to purchase textbooks and other reading materials as well as Fairfield apparel, electronics, gifts
and other supplies. Free public events, like lectures and musical presentations, are frequently offered. Starbucks adjoins
the bookstore.
• Black Rock Turnpike (Rt. 58) – Everything from Gap, Old Navy to Pier 1.
• Southport Center – A part of Fairfield, this quaint, historic section has a picturesque harbor and small shops.
• Westport Center – (Five miles south on Rt.1) – Charming suburban community with numerous shops and restaurants.
• Regional Mall – Trumbull/Westfield Mall (Exit 48, off Rt. 15 – Merritt Parkway in Trumbull, CT)
