Helmets, life jackets, neoprene shoes, harnesses and wetsuits are available for all kite students or for rent.
Spot
The exclusive IBI&FRIENDS kiteclub Seahorse Bay is situated 15km north of Hurghada and around 10km south of El
Gouna directly at a huge, flat-water lagoon. The bay and lagoon mostly consist of fine sand, some stones, shells and corals
can appear.
The shallow area of the lagoon, depending of the tides up to 300-400m, guarantees an easy start in a perfect flat-water
spot. As at most kite spots around Hurghada and El Gouna low and high tides are influencing the water level in the
shallow water area.
The lagoon is a beautiful place for all kiters, whether you are a beginner, advanced or professional – everybody will be
thoroughly satisfied. In the shallow area or the “pool” (always deep water) freestylers could have fun.
Transfer time from the airport of Hurghada is around 20 minutes.
Centre
Our IBI&FRIENDS kiteclub Seahorse Bay is situated on our private ground of 1400sqm on the way from Hurghada to El
Gouna.
IBI&FRIENDS offers you a cosy kite centre on a 1200sqm garden with a direct entry to the beach and the kite spot, sun
beds, chill out area, volleyball at the beach and much more.
The heart of the club is the 200sqm villa with a huge terrace. There you can find a cafeteria with tasty food, cake,
snacks and non-alcoholic drinks, library, games corner, chill out area, dart, billiards, table kicker, SAT-TV and DVD,
shower and a lavatory. As the only and first kite center in Egypt we offer you a small climbing wall.
Our pool is opened 24h for all our Ibi & friends Kiteclub guests.
After kiting you can relax your muscles or just relax in our sauna or at the Ibi & friends Skylounge on top of the sauna.
The newest attraction is our IBI&FRIENDS Seaview Lounge. With the directly view on the see and in the cosy deck
chairs you can relax, watch the kiters or just enjoy the sunset.
The kite center and office are open every day from 9am until 5pm, you can use the kiteclub villa and the whole
infrastructure every day from 9am until 10pm.
Our IBI&FRIENDS kiteclub Seahorse bay is the perfect place for a limited amount of kiters (around 25 kiters) with the
possibility of kite storage (the IBI&FRIENDS kite service package), kite rental and kite lesson for all levels with
professional and licensed teachers in an exclusive atmosphere. Because of the limited amount of kitesurfers you always
have enough space on the water.
For windsurfing our centre in Steigenberger Al Dau Hurghada is still opened for all friends!
Hotels
„Kiteclub–rooms“
Directly in the Kiteclub villa and garden you’ll find 11 guest rooms, 9 rooms with own bathroom and 2 rooms with a shared
bathroom. All guest rooms can be booked with half board!
Now you can use the Kiteclub infrastructure 24 hours a day – closer to the spot is not possible!
The rooms are situated in a closed area of the Kiteclub villa or garden and all rooms are equipped with air condition, hair
dryer, TV with satellite & DVD/CD player, minibar and safe.
Villa:
2 of the 3 rooms in the villa can be booked as single or double room and have a shared bathroom with a warm water
shower, toilet and lavatory. The 3rd room can be booked only as double, triple or 4-bed room with its own bathroom with
bathtub, WC and sink.
Garden:
3 of the 5 rooms in the garden are double rooms, the other 2 rooms are single rooms. All rooms in the garden have an
own bathroom with warm water shower, toilet and sink.
Center:
All 3 rooms on the center are double rooms with an own bathroom with warm water shower, toilet and sink.
Half board:
We offer you a rich breakfast buffet in the special IBI&FRIENDS way with all a sports man/woman needs – hot and cold
drinks, juices, fruits, cheese and cold cuts, jam and honey, cereals, yogurt and much more.
The dinner consists of a soup, salad and the main dish (you have a choice from our menu, also for vegeterian) and a
dessert. Our kitchen team is preparing all meals and drinks fresh.
„The Movie Gate Hotel"
The Movie Gate hotel is situated between Hurghada and El Gouna, leeward/ south of our exclusive Ibi&friends kiteclub,
in a quiet area, directly at a hotel owned, wide and sandy beach (swimming shoes recommended).
The spacious club hotel with a main building and some buildings aside, as well as some bungalows, has 454 rooms. You will
also find a reception with lobby (safe for a small fee), a bar, main restaurant, Italian and Oriental a-la-carterestaurants, elevators, discotheque and an amphitheatre.
All rooms are comfortable equipped with a bathroom, hair dryer, air condition/ heater, telephone, SAT-TV and minirefrigerator. Family rooms are also available.
It is the perfect place for a beach holiday, especially for families with children (shallow water area).
Inside the hotel area there is an attractive pool area, sunbathing terrace with sun beds, umbrellas (inclusive at the pool
and the beach).
Divers can enjoy the Red sea underwater world with the diving centre directly at the hotel.
To reach our IBI&FRIENDS Kite Club you just have to walk 5 minutes along the beach.
Kiteclub cafeteria
During the whole day we offer you cold and hot non alcoholic drinks, as well as cakes & different snacks in our
IBI&FRIENDS cafeteria. Our chef is preparing also different meals during lunch for you. At our 4-course-dinner you
also have a choice of vegetarian dishes now. And don’t forget, every Tuesday we have our weekly BBQ evening!
Arrival and transfer
Transfer time from the airport of Hurghada is around 20 minutes. Your travel agency will organize the airport transfer.
Wind
With 70% of windy days the wind is blowing constantly side onshore from Northern direction.
Leeward’s from our spot is The Movie Gate hotel. Around 400m windward is the newly opened Three Corners Sunny
Beach hotel. Which means the wind is constantly blowing without any blanking cover due to huge buildings.

Temperatures
From November until the middle of March the temperatures in Hurghada are between 20-25 degrees. We recommend a
long wetsuit and warm clothes. From the middle of March the summer clothes is enough during the day, but it’s still
worth to wear a shorty in the water. A jumper in the evening might also be necessary. During the summer months from
June until September board shorts and Lycra is enough to kite, as the water temperatures are minimum 25 degrees and
outside it can rise up to 40 degrees (in July and August).
Excursions
In general your tour operator offers several trips to Luxor or Cairo, just ask your travel guide at the hotel/Kite Club.
If there will be no wind, Ibi&friends can also organize the following excursions for you: Trip to the desert by jeep or
quad, Wakeboarding behind the boat or at the cable park in El Gouna, a Segway tour to see El Gouna or a half day or full
day snorkelling tour where the probability to see dolphins is very good.
Directly at the Movie Gate Hotel you can also book your diving trip. They also offer nice horse riding trips, for example
horse riding at the beach, in the sea, in the desert or at sunrise.
If you like to enjoy the nightlife of Hurghada, you should get to the Hurghada New Marina Weekends (Thursdays until
Saturdays) you can enjoy live concerts or just get in a bar or restaurant and have a drink.

Payment
No credit card payment is possible, only cash payment in Euro, Dollar or Egyptian Pound at the Kite Club is possible.
Please come and pay your bill before 5pm.
Money exchange is possible upon arrival at the airport bank or at the reception of your hotel.
Please be informed, that all extra services booked or used at the Kite Club (e. g. additional lessons, equipment rental and
insurance, food and drinks) have to be paid directly at the centre in cash (Euro, Dollar or Egyptian Pound).
Please ask you bank in advance if they provide withdrawal of cash money in Egypt!
Currency
Egyptian Pound (LE) 1 € equals around 8,5 LE (August 2015)
Tip
In Egypt it is usual to give some tip for several services and also in bars or restaurants. In bars and restaurants it´s
around 10% of your consumption. In our Kite Club the team will not ask you for some tip during your stay. In the office
we have a tip box for the whole team, where you can leave a tip at the end of your holiday. We recommend around
10,- € per guest, per week.
Medical care:
You can reach a doctor 24h daily from the reception of your hotel. The next hospitals are 20km north of the Kite Club in
El Gouna or 15km south of the Kite Club in Hurghada. If you are suffering from health problems, please always inform
our IBI&FRIENDS team.
At the Kite Club you can find first aid and medication for emergency cases.

Recommendable for taking with you:
Own wetsuit, shoes and harness, Lycra in summer, sun cream with high protection, cap, protection against gnats, laptop,
favourite sweets, good books and games, first aid stuff, medication against cold, painkillers, sport ointment, disinfection
spray. Against diarrhoea we recommend Egyptian medication as it helps much better.
Our special tip
Favourite sweets, tea, cappuccino, and so on you should bring with you. If you don’t like to be without muesli, whole meal
bread or „Nutella” you should also put it in your luggage as the Egyptians don’t know it or don’t like it.
Our team will be very glad for the above-mentioned thing too. Bribery in forms of chocolate, jelly babies, whole meal
bread and magazines from plane will be accepted with pleasure.
