Prayer of Joy
Congregation
Living God, as we journey through this life, help us to create more
laughter than tears, dispense more joy than gloom, and spread more
cheer than despair. Teach us how to be positive in the light of Jesus’
resurrection. Never let us become so indifferent that we fail to see
the wonder in the eyes of a child or the twinkle in the eyes of an
older adult. Show us how to encourage people with the joy of
Christian living. Help us remember that when we lighten the
burden of another, we make You smile. In the joy of Jesus. Amen.

LEADER:
Which commandment is the first of all?
STUDENTS: Jesus said, “Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God is one; you shall
love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your
soul, with all your mind and with all your strength.”
LEADER:
Which is the second?
STUDENTS: Jesus said, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” There is
no commandment greater than these.
STUDENTS AND SPONSORS:
We are on the journey of life, learning to walk with Jesus.
STUDENTS: May we commit our lives to following the Way of Jesus.
PEOPLE:
May we be faithful followers of Christ who invest ourselves
in our children and youth.
ALL:
May we all respond to the love of God with gratitude, and
may that gratitude shape the way we live our lives.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom
come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our
daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead
us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the kingdom
and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
I've got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart! Where?
Down in my heart! Where? Down in my heart!
I've got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart,
Down in my heart to stay.

The Lord of the Dance
Choir sings verses & congregation joins on refrain
He will take delight in whom He loves.
Is that a choir I hear singing the praises of God?
No, the Lord God Himself is exulting o'er you in song!
And He will joy over you in song!
My soul will make its boast in God,
For He has answered all my cries.
His faithfulness to me is as sure as the dawn of a new day.
Awake my soul! Awake my soul and sing!
Let my spirit rejoice, let my spirit rejoice, let my spirit rejoice, in God!
Sing, O daughter of Zion, with all of your heart!
Cast away fear, for you have been restored!
Put on the garment of praise as on a festival day.
Join with the Father in glorious, jubilant song.
And He will joy over you in song! And the Father will dance over you in joy!
He will take delight in whom He loves!
Is that a choir I hear singing the praises of God?
No, the Lord God Himself is exulting o'er you in song!
God rejoices over you, God rejoices over you in song!
