Box 190933, Boise ID 83719 June 18, 2013 – Idaho Pizza Company in Meridian, Idaho Regular Meeting Minutes Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Steve Huffman, President Steve welcomed visitors, our guests and new members. General Business: The Secretary’s Report was given by Linda Colton. May meeting minutes were approved. Treasurer’s Report was given by Blake Burgess. Motion made, seconded, and passed to accept the treasurer’s report. Membership Report – Mike and Yvette Pierce said that membership numbered 132, 7 sponsors with 5 new members. The club store has sweat shirts – great for the coming fall rides. Guest Speaker: John Larsen, the Education Coordinator for the Owyhee County Historical Society talked about his life in that county. He gave us an interesting perspective of the area that we ride frequently – Flint, Silver City, Jordan Valley, Swan Falls etc. His parents founded the Society in 1962. Ticket Drawings: Steve announced the drawings. The first ticket drawing went to Steve’s wife ($29), the second drawing ($29) went to Dennis Colton, Darrel McCracken won $29 and Dennis Colton again won ($28) the member drawing. Past/Future Rides – Jim Maxey: He said that the May 25th Owyhee ride, led by Kenny Milhouse was a success. They rode 44 miles with 16 riders. The May 27th Hells Canyon event was great. There were 190 riders (dinner served 220). They broke into 3 groups for each day. He covered 430 miles in 5 days. There was one flat tire and one flip over (on a Rhino). 12 participated from clubs in our valley. It will be held next year. June 3rd’s Sage Hen ride went well. They cleaned the entire trail system. Had great potluck. Whiskey Mountain’s June 15 ride covered 50 miles with 36 riders. On the June 16 Father’s Day ride, Carl Bloomquist had 55 riders. Silver City will be held this coming weekend. We need 25 volunteers to support the 100 K Pickle Foot run. Past/Future Rides – Bill Jones: Bill said that on June 15th, he and Carl rode 51 miles to check out the Bogus Basin trail. July 5-7 weekend at Clear Creek – they need chain saws. There are many dead fall trees on the trail, and too much snow. They will meet at Park Creek Campground. Trail 18 has reserved sites. Call Pauline with your rsvp so meat can be purchased. Old Business: The Disabled Veteran’s 45 mile ride is scheduled for July 27th. There will be a picnic and catering. Tito needs at least 2 Mavericks for riders and their family. New Business: David Claiborne reported that Idaho State ATV meeting and ride will be August 16th in Challis. The state organization will work on registration issues, and develop statutes for next year. The process continues. Steve will send a get well message card to Bonnie McBrayer, a former member of Boise ATV. Jim indicated that in the future, a form will need to be filled out if a member is checking out the Bosski Trailer.
