ADUL As winter is among us, we are reminded of the difficulties of operating buses in the snow and the related schedule delays and sometimes service cancellations that can occur. Last year’s blizzard clearly reminded us all that service cannot operate in 30 plus inches of snow with no service being provided for three days. On such days, it is important that our customers be aware of potential route detours that we operate when snow levels reach 6” or more, particularly for the narrow streets in the City. We try to forward messages to the various television and radio networks, but we can’t control whether they announce any service delays or changes, so please check our website or simply give us a call to find out about the status of service. Also, please remember that the new route and schedule changes went into effect on January 2nd. New schedule books are available. Please take a look at the new schedules to ensure you are waiting at the proper time for the bus! BARTA Donates Buses for CTC Training What do you do with a BARTA bus that has met its useful life at BARTA? You donate it to Berks Career and Technology Center (BCTC) for students in the Diesel Technology program to use for training. BARTA dropped-off the retired bus to the students on December 18, 2016 so they can have practical, hands-on training with transit buses. BCTC students check-out the BARTA Bus. BARTA officials, BCTC officials and students pose for a photo inside the BARTA bus. BARTA Is There Even in Winter Weather BARTA is there for our riders in winter weather.
