You’re invited to CASAblanca, a night of elegance and generosity that gives Austin
children a dedicated CASA volunteer to speak up for their needs and champion their
best interest in court, in school and across our community. In 2016, we are hosting
our annual CASAblanca Gala on Saturday, February 6 at the beautiful new JW Marriott
Austin Hotel complete with exciting auctions, a casino after-party, delicious cuisine and
the inspiring stories of CASA children and volunteers.
CASA of Travis County speaks up for children who’ve been abused or neglected by
empowering our community to volunteer as advocates for them in the court system. When
the state steps in to protect a child’s safety, a judge appoints a trained CASA volunteer
to make independent and informed recommendations in the child’s best interest. In
1985, CASA recruited and trained 43 volunteers who served 85 children. Today, CASA
of Travis County is one of the top ten CASA programs in the nation, supporting over 600
volunteers who advocate for more than 1,600 children a year.
For children who’ve been abused or neglected, CASA means having a home instead of
feeling lost, and being a priority instead of feeling invisible.
CASAblanca brings together the powerful voices of the CASA community - board
members, volunteers, donors, judges and friends - to raise crucial funds and awareness
to meet our vision of a trained volunteer advocate, a safe home and a promising future
for every child who needs us. Last year’s gala ensured that more than 350 children
had a CASA volunteer by their side for a year. This year, we invite you to become a
CASAblanca sponsor and help us speak up for even more children in need!
