Statement FAQs
To be eligible for a pair of glasses under
GlassesSA, you must live permanently in
SA, and either:
• receive a full Centrelink pension (eg a full
age pension or full disability pension) or
• receive full Newstart Allowance or
• be under the age of 18 years and the
dependant of a person eligible for glasses
under GlassesSA.
To apply for glasses, you must provide a copy
of your Centrelink Income Statement to the
optometrist or their staff, who will upload it to
the GlassesSA electronic system. The Centrelink
Income Statement must be dated within the last
month and can be hard copy or electronic.
How to get a Centrelink
Income Statement
The easiest way to get a Centrelink Income
Statement is to download an electronic copy
from your MyGov account. You can then email
it to the optometrist. Alternatively you can print
a copy and take it to the optometrist.
Hard copies of Income Statements are
available from a Centrelink office on request.
The optometrist will scan or photograph the
statement for their records and return it to you.
