Appendix The story of The Call of The Wild was started in Santa Clara Valley, California. A dog named Buck used to live in a large house owned by his master, Judge Miller. Buck lived a happy, comfortable life just until Manuel, the Judge Miller’s gardener kidnapped and sold him to Perrault and Francois that later used Buck as a sled dog during their mission of finding gold in Northland. After he was kidnapped, Buck had taken to many places from Southland to Northland. All of the places he was forcedly taken to were so harsh and brutal so that Buck experienced many surprises or shocks with the new law, The Law of Club and Fang, bloody fights with a strong Husky dog named Spitz and a group of fericious Indians, the Yeehats. He also had to work really hard in order to survive in those hostile places. However, when Buck arrived in large camp where thousands of men gathered to find the gold, he had new lovable yet strong master, named John Thornton. Buck has already adapted with the hostility of each place he visited. In fact, the new harsh way of life made him became stronger and tougher in which led him to be the leader of a wolf pack. xi
