Information

Application Deadline: June 11th, 2017. Please email finished applications and questions about the
application to Danielle Runyon at [email protected]. This information will be used for
press releases and program books. Please make sure all information is accurate and printed neatly.
Entry Fee: The $30 entry fee must be submitted at our first meeting or by that date. Checks should
be made payable to Champaign Co. Fair Queen Pageant and can be mailed to 413 W. Champaign
Ave, Rantoul, IL 61866 if needed. Please attach a head shot photo of your child to application or
email it to [email protected].
Program Ads: Parents and/or sponsors will have the opportunity to place an ad in the pageant
program. Details will be distributed by email and at the first meeting.
Informational Meeting: A mandatory informational meeting will be held at the Location TBA on
Monday, June 12th. Your child will have her picture taken for the program. If you are unable to
attend the informational meeting, please notify us as soon as possible. Information about the
pageant and fair will be handed out at this meeting and emailed.
Practices: Contestants are required to attend the dress rehearsal practice on July 15th at City
Center, 505 S. Chestnut St, Champaign, at 5:30p.m. and one other practice to be announced.
Pageant Day: Each contestant will state their age and name, be asked one question on stage, and
model their dress for the judges.
Judging categories are as follows:
1) Appearance & grace
2) Character (sweetness)
3) Confidence (answering questions and speaking into a microphone)
4) Personality
Production Number: Contestants will perform a small dance number as a group, as well as with the
Miss Contestants. They will not be judged on these dance performances.
Wardrobe: Contestants must wear a nice dress for the pageant. Examples would include a sundress,
church dress, or Easter dress. The dress needs to be comfortable, age appropriate, and not too long,
so that she doesn’t trip going up and down stairs. Absolutely NO makeup is to be worn and hair
should be age appropriate, preferably out of her face. No tiaras/crowns should be worn during
pageant.
Duties of the 2016 Little Miss: The Little Miss will be required to attend the preschool/kiddie land
days at the fair, as well as announce with the Miss Queen at select grandstand events at night.
Beyond those events, the Little Miss will not participate in any events at the fair as the Little Miss
unless asked/invited to. The Little Miss must have all events throughout the year approved in
advance by the Director. She must be chaperoned at all times by an adult over the age of 21.

The entire Champaign County Fair Queen crew looks forward to working with all of the contestants

speaking skills.

Rules & Guidelines
1. Contestants must be age 5 by July 15th, 2017 and not be older than age 78 by July 15th, 2017. Proof of
age may be required to be submitted.
2. Contestants must be a current resident of Champaign County.
3. Contestants must not hold a current county Little Miss title by the pageant date.
4. Each contestant is required pay a $30 entry fee.
5. Each contest will be required to participate in fundraising efforts and events, but this will not affect the
judges scores.
6. Contestants must attend the dress rehearsal.
7. The winner agrees to serve as an ambassador during the fair and throughout the year and to attend all
required events agreed upon by the director.
8. The contestant agrees to be judged by the following criteria outlined above and the decision of the
judges at the pageant is final.
9. The Director has the right to change or add rules if necessary.
10. Each contestant is required to wear a dress.
11. The winner will agree to not enter an other judged pageant during her reign without speaking to the
director first.
