How students can update their email address
The students also receive messages from the early warning system and notifications. Students whose email address is wrong – must fix it
themselves otherwise it seems as if it is the system that misbehaves. UP Mail for students is now run by Google Mail. Therefore students will have
to change their forwarding address in Google Mail if they don’t want to use the [email protected] address.
1. Login on the UP Portal
2. Select the Email and Student help tab OR the Gmail icon
3. Take note: As of 23 July 2012, you will no longer receive email in the Campus mail boxes! Until 31 October you will still be able to read messages that were sent to
the Campus mail box.

4. You will now have to sign into your Gmail account. For the username, use your u+number on your student card (e.g. u01234567) and your UP Portal password.
5. Once you have logged in, you can use all the Google tools, e.g. Google Sites, Docs, Calendar, etc. In order to change your forward mail settings, click on Email.

6. If you do not want to use the Gmail account, you can now setup your forwarding address. Click on the Gear drop-down menu.

11. Click on Proceed to confirm the email address.

12. You will receive a confirmation email from UP in the forwarding address specified. Click on the link provided in the email to confirm and for the forwarding of email
to take action.
