This new boutique hotel is tucked into the corner of a charming plaza in the
Chiado neighborhood just steps from Praca do Comercio, the largest
square in Europe. The neighborhood has some of the best shops and
restaurants, all within walking distance of the hotel. The décor is eclectic
and shabby chic with a jumble of Portuguese textiles and antiques
adorning the public spaces. The small lobby opens into the hotel’s
brasserie, Delfina, which serves local cuisine and a large family-style
breakfast. In keeping with the historic location and the character of the
18th-century building, the guest rooms feature Oushak-like carpeting and

fireplaces, ceramic tiles, stone floors or exposed beams. Sizes range from
small doubles to the 12 suites, which have sitting areas and kitchenettes
and can accommodate an extra bed for kids. All boast local Portuguese
products like lovely linens and soaps as well as modern amenities such as
flat screen TVs. Bathrooms are a bit tight with only showers, and there is no
gym or salon. The friendly hotel team will arrange fun activities ranging from
a sunset cruise on the Tagus river to a food tour of the city or a day trip to
Sintra.

Who Should Stay
Lowkey families or couples who want a boutique hotel with a sense of
