Stone Terrace was built in 1883, and has served
as a single-family home for well over a century.
It offers idyllic views of Lake Michigan in one
of Evanston’s most scenic areas.
As one of the older houses in Evanston,
Stone Terrace has been listed as a historic
landmark. Completely restored to its original
design and grandeur, it now operates as a fully
functioning bed and breakfast with upgraded
amenities.

Stone Terrace
Welcome to a boutique bed and breakfast
experience. See what Stone Terrace has to offer
in premiere luxury accommodations, stylish charm,
and friendly service. Enjoy the morning sun
in the main floor sitting room, or the fresh air
on the comfortable back terrace. Take a leisurely
walk along the Lake Michigan shore, or explore
Evanston’s many downtown shops, restaurants,
and museums.
Stone Terrace B&B offers first-class accommodations
including: Wi-Fi, exercise room, billiard room,
massage room, entertainment center, executive
library, and an elevator connecting all floors.
The five en suite guest rooms are all located
on the second floor; they feature unique color
schemes, original artwork, and custom furniture.
Four of the guest rooms offer fireplaces,
original to the house. The magnificent outdoor
terrace and beautiful perennial gardens offer
guests a luxurious open-air experience.
Lake Michigan, which is directly across
the street from the B&B, provides a landscape
of beauty with great bike and walking paths.
For those who enjoy winter activities, the walking
path is open year round, and there is a frozen
pond for skating.

Caro Blymer Dawes
(1866-1957) was the
wife of Vice President
of the United States,
Charles G. Dawes.
She was instrumental
in founding the
Children’s Home and
Aid Society of Illinois.

Mary Chaplin Glenn
(1892-1972) was one
of the first women in
uniform to serve her
country as an
ambulance driver
in World War I.

Dr. Isabella Garnett
(1872-1948) was one
of the first AfricanAmerican physicians,
and founder of the
Evanston Sanitarium
and Training School.
