The Times is leveraged off the trust platform of the Sunday Times and is the first interactive, integrated
digital print medium. The Times reports and breaks news, following the big story of the day, but with
originality and with a forward-looking perspective which brought its readership to a staggering 322,000
and circulates an estimated 142,111 copies a day - in addition providing rich multimedia offerings that
can be followed online.
For nine in ten, The Times is their first read of the day, at home before arriving at work.

Sowetan is not just a fearless advocate of political truth and national development, but also a proud
promoter of personal liberation, a champion of lifestyle development, a doyen of enhanced
entertainment options and an inspired innovator of information exchange reaching out to a mass of
1,722,00 readers nationwide..

 Sunday World, with its tabloid format, is easy to page through, portable and its editorial focus reflects
the world of the young, aspirational black consumer – that of racy infotainment, celebrities, sport and
gossip (shwashwi), shebeen & dining guide, and specialist pages of fashion, beauty, health, motoring
and money hence attracting a readership of 1,547,000 and circulating 150,518 copies each Sunday.
 Sunday World reports on broader news in South Africa as well as the local community, with an upbeat
style, and manages to obtain a balance between the need for information with the need for
entertainment.


The Herald comprises a careful blend of local, national and international news items, human interest
articles, features and opinion pieces. Finance and sport are also covered comprehensively. The Herald
exerts substantial influence in the greater Eastern Cape and is respected for its independent and public
spirited stance on issues.
High levels of reader involvement is evidenced by the prolific Letters Page, as well as a sold subscriber
base of 30%. Currently The Herald has the biggest daily readership of all offerings in the Port Elizabeth
metropolis which currently stands at 238,000 and circulates 22,113 copies per day.

Weekend Post offers a fine blend of award winning, exclusive breaking news and features, with a
strong focus on lifestyle and leisure content. It is the weekend market leader in the Eastern Cape,
outselling all other local and national papers circulating 23,127 copies each week. The tone of the paper
is uplifting and inspirational – it reaches an audience/readership of 209,000 that travels, plays, buys,
shops and loves holidays.

Readers are predominantly in the upper income group and include local decision makers and
community leaders.

 Daily Dispatch is South Africa’s most award-winning journalism. It remains the Eastern Cape’s biggest
selling daily newspaper covering the eastern sector of the Eastern Cape – a vast geographical area which
stretches from the Kowie River in Port Alfred through to Aliwal North on the Orange River and all the
way down to the KwaZulu Natal border. Independent research shows that it circulates 29,043 copies
daily and that readers find the publication indispensable.
 Readers are young, black, ambitious and of the up-and-coming generation, while established readers are
older, white and wealthier with all that population it holds a staggering readership of 232,000 and are
fiercely loyal and trust the information carried daily.



Saturday Dispatch carries a fine blend of news and features with a strong focus on lifestyle and leisure
content. Readers choose this title to catch up on the week’s news, when they have more time to focus
in-depth on stories.
While the local coverage draws them in, they also like keeping abreast of national and international
events. The supplements are a key component of their Saturday read, especially the property and
entertainment sections. Readers are loyal and trust the paper bringing its readership to a total of
91,000 while circulating 22,126 copies per Saturday.
Times Media Community Newspapers publishes nine weekly titles comprising Algoa Sun, The Rep, Go!
& Express, Our Times, Talk of the Town. These publications serve communities from Port St Johns to
Jeffreys Bay and have a circulation of 371 000 and an estimated readership of nearly 700 000 readers
every week
