Message from Nicole – Flying Cars
I recall as a kid thinking that the year 2000 seemed so far away. I couldn’t wait for the flying
cars, video phones and transporters. Technology did advance, change happened, some of those
visions of the future came true, and others have yet to materialize. The truth is the future is
hurling at us and there is no way to escape it. Somehow the year 2000 seemed so far away, but
in reality it’s in the rear view mirror.
Recognizing the challenges that our credit union partners face today, and anticipating the
challenges they will face tomorrow, CRI Canada is invested in continuing to take our credit
union partners into the FUTURE.
The Canadian financial industry has been affected by a number of factors over the past few
years; the financial crisis, increasing regulations, historically low interest rates, aging
population, changes in the financial market, tougher accounting rules and technological
advances. This has resulted in the creation of a new market dynamic, requiring our credit union
partners to consider alternative growth strategies, routes to market and organizational models
while at the core level, demonstrating outside-in methodology.
Consumers have become accustomed to the ease, intuition and elegance of digital retail
interaction and they want the same experience from the financial industry. The consumer
wants to be able to conduct their business when they want, where they want and through the
channel of their choice. The credit union industry today is charged with making investments in
innovative technology solutions and operational models that will be capable of meeting the
required needs of this new dynamic environment to drive future long term success for their
organization.
The CRI Canada team understands that for innovation to be successful it must fit the strategic
and operational needs of our credit union partners, resonate with your members and be
delivered collaboratively. With this understanding at our core, for the past 30 years, CRI Canada
CRIC20130426 - 03
has built mutually beneficial relationships with over 100 credit unions in our marketplace.
These relationships are supported by face-to-face service, innovative technology and insurance
solutions that protect members and credit unions alike. The opportunity to partner with
Canadian credit unions is a privilege our team approaches with integrity, transparency and with
the utmost commitment. We have worked to capture that belief system in our Core Purpose
statement:
CRI Canada builds relationships and delivers innovative solutions
that help credit unions and their communities thrive.
In the coming months CRI Canada will roll out a series of advances for our credit union partners.
There will be no flying cars, but we will bring you the kind of innovation that will play an
important part in driving success in your operations, your member service and your bottom
line. We recognize the challenges out there, but are enthused about our credit union partner’s
potential. We look forward to building a brighter future for our industry, your institution and
for your credit union membership.
