Greetings SCOL’ers!!
Well Mother Nature has
certainly figured out how a
yoyo works. All and all, we are
having a decent ski season.
There has been some
surprisingly good conditions
mixed in with the crud.
Through
it
all,
SCOL’s
Facebook page has been
keeping everyone updated
with snow conditions and
important news.
Seeing so
many members on the hill
each day is FANTASTIC!!
As predicted, January and
early February have seen a
number of very successful
SCOL events.
Contractor’s
Day, Balloons Happy Hour and
the Wine and Cheese party
turned out to be an awesome
weekend. The Ground Hog
Day trip to Swain couldn’t
have gone better. How about

a BIG SHOUT OUT to Paul
Fournier, Dave Knab, Debbie
Darling, Melissa Napoli,
Roxanne Wallace and Linda
O'Donnell for making these
outings a huge success.
Another SCOL East trip is in
the books. What a trip!!! The
group got to enjoy record
breaking snowfall conditions.
Stowe enjoyed 21” of snow
Sunday night and set a
record with 12,000 skiers and
boarders on the hill Monday.
We were still able to cover a
lot of terrain in knee deep
powder.
Tuesday was a
glorious blue bird day with
packed powder groomers,
lots of vertical and even
more smiles. A HUGE Thank
you to the First Lady of SCOL,
Pam Fekete for yet again
another fabulous trip.
I would like to remind everyone
that at the February 22
mee ti n g
there
wi l l
be
nominations for officers. We
need some people to step up
and give back to the club. If
you haven’t had a chance to
be on the board or hold an
officer position, now is a great
time to get involved. Please
contact a board member if
you have any questions. We
NEED YOUR help. Hope to see
everyone at the meeting!

Bristol Mountain Bus Trip
Friday, February 24th, 2017
"Our 1200’ vertical rise allows Bristol Mountain to reign as the highest vertical
between the Adirondack/Laurentian Mountains of the east and the Rocky
Mountains of the west".
It’s sure to be a great trip with plenty of great skiing and some fun
partying. If you haven't skied Bristol Mountain, it has 1200' of vertical
so you have some nice long runs between lift rides. Sign up and enjoy
a great day of skiing. You can bring a lunch or purchase one in the
cafeteria.
The bus trip is $25 for members and $35 for non-members. You can pay in cash or
make a check payable to SCOL.
Coffee, bagels, fruit and water will be served on the way to Bristol. Snacks, beer,
wine, water on return. Everyone is encouraged to bring their desired beverage
and snacks.
Bus Pick up details are TBD. But there will only one pick up location in order to arrive
in a timely manner
You can use your Holiday Valley Season Pass or White Card for 1/2 off the lift ticket
price. Lift tickets are $63 - 8 hour; or the Senior rate (65+) is $52 - 8 hour ticket.
Signups and collection of payment will take place at the February meeting. If you
would like to sign up but can’t make the meeting—please contact Melissa Napoli
directly at [email protected] or (716) 807-6373.

SCOL ROCKS SWAIN ON
GROUND HOG DAY
Snow followed us to Swain Resort on Feb.2.....Ground Hog Day... to highlight a
fantastic day of skiing. Twenty three skiers made the trip on the bus and several
drove to met us at the resort. We arrived at Swain to find 4" of fresh powder and the
entire mountain open for skiing. We were almost the only ones skiing. Conditions
were fabulous. Rusty & Pam wore Ground Hog gear for effect. Swain set aside the
entire fireside lounge for the club. The ride home included Ground Hog beer from PA,
the usual assortment of Keith Wallace’s gourmet Jell-O shots, and a lot of laughs.
Who knows.. it might become an annual ski event once again! Everyone had a blast.
Linda O'Donnell
