The Hunger Games Book and Movie Review by Riley
I really enjoyed the movie better then the book because I don’t like
books. The action in the movie was awesome and kept me entertained.
Part of the movie I enjoyed the most was when the gorilla mutation came to
attack. They look cool and I wish I had one, but not that hostile. I wouldn’t want to
get mauled like Cato did. However, that part was cool.
In conclusion I would suggest people watch this movie because of the gore action
to the movie.
The Hunger Games Review by Ethan
I really enjoyed the book and the movie because it was interesting
and easy to understand.
The book was about 24 tributes from 12 districts. Seventy five years ago there
was a war between the districts and the capitol but the capitol won and destroyed one of the 13 districts leaving 12 left. As punishment from the capitol
each district must give one male and one female between the ages of 12 and 18
years old. The hunger games is a reminder to the districts that they are powerless against the capitol and that there is nothing that they can do.
In conclusion I would recommend that you read the book first and then watch
the movie and I would suggest the book and movie to a friend.

My Semester in English by Sheldon
I liked The Hunger Games unit the best because it was fun watching the
movie
I disliked the short story unit because there was too much reading, but I do like to
write short stories.
The Hunger Games Movie/Book Review by Faith
I really enjoyed the movie better than the book. The movie was more exciting. The book seemed to have more detail. I prefer to see the people
acting.
The part of the movie I enjoyed the most was when Katniss and Peeta didn’t have to kill
themselves or each other. They were both winners.
In conclusion I found the story interesting and exciting.

My Semester in English by Kevin
The unit I liked the best this semester, was The Hunger Games, because we got to read
the book and watch the movie. I enjoyed it.
I did not like the Parts of Speech unit, because it was hard to understand all the parts.
Book Review by Kevin
I really enjoyed the movie better than the book because it has different parts than the
book.
In the book at the end, poison berries were to put the mouth by Katniss and Peeta.
In the movie the lead game maker ends up dying because he ate some poison berries.
The part of the movie that I enjoyed was Peeta and Katniss winning the hunger games
because they were good people.
I would suggest this movie because it had some funny parts even if it had killing in it.

The KEC Dance show was another great success this year thanks to Teacher Elise
Thomas. Two of our students from AACT were in the course this semester. Thania and
Heaven did a fantastic job thanks to Miss Thomas’ guidance and dedication. At the
show Teacher Sandra Resendes-Unger was on hand to MC the whole event. It was a
beautiful, well planned and entertaining show. Thanks again for your participation
Thania and Heaven!

The AACT barbeque was a great success! Educational Assistants Tom Theodorou and Marla
De Vissar did a great job cooking the weiners. Educational Assistant Madeleine Riha did a
great job developing a powerpoint for the students’ enjoyment. New students coming to
AACT next fall had a great opportunity to meet students and teachers and have some fun.
Educational Assitants Debra Hurd and Brenda Tourond helped out with serving too. Teachers Lauren Clasen, Paulette Jerrard-Gillert, and Sandra Resendes-Unger were excited to
hand out diplomas to the very deserving graduates. A great time was had by all.
