Peanut Butter and Jelly Update
St. Andrew’s PBJ Gang meets on the 3rd Friday night of each month from October
through May at 7:00pm in the Parish hall. All St. Andrew’s youth and any of their friends
and/or parents are welcome and encouraged to come and help make approx 550 sandwiches
for the homeless. The only requirements are that any youth attending must be in the 6th
grade or older. All outside groups must sign up in advance with Mary Fjellstad @ 265-0657.
Each youth can apply one hour of community service for every PB&J that they attend. The
sandwiches that are made will be taken to the “Hospitality Too” soup kitchen at St. Anne’s
Roman Catholic Church in Brentwood. The sandwiches will then be distributed to various
homeless shelters in Suffolk, Nassau and the city. We humbly ask that all who attend bring
with them a jar of peanut butter and/or jelly to help defray the cost. All bread is generously
donated by Stroehmann’s Bakery. St. Andrew’s Youth group meets directly following PBJ at
8:00pm. We hope to see you soon at the next PBJ
