by Anna Laura Page
*Call to Worship
Out of the deep have I called unto thee, O Lord; Lord, hear my voice.
O let thine ears consider well the voice of my complaint.
If thou, Lord, wilt be extreme to mark what is done amiss, O Lord, who may abide it?
For there is mercy with thee; therefore shalt thou be feared.
I look for the Lord; my soul doth wait for him; in his word is my trust.
My soul fleeth unto the Lord before the Morning watch;
I say before the morning watch.
O Israel, trust in the Lord, for with the Lord there is mercy,
and with him is plenteous redemption.
And he shall redeem Israel from all his sins.
*Prayer
Lord, we pray not for tranquility, nor that our tribulations may cease;
we pray for thy spirit and thy love,
that thou grant us strength and grace to overcome adversity;
through Jesus Christ. Amen.

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Today’s Scripture Readings
Sunday, November 6 - All Saints Sunday
1 Corinthians 10:13 (NRSV)
No testing has overtaken you that is not common to everyone. God is faithful, and he will
not let you be tested beyond your strength, but with the testing he will also provide the
way out so that you may be able to endure it.
Psalm 46:1-2 (NRSV)
God’s Defense of His City and People
To the leader. Of the Korahites. According to Alamoth. A Song.
God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear,
though the earth should change,
though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea;
All will have the opportunity to hang a heart in memory of a
Saint in their life on the cross in Spurrier Hall.
There will also be an opportunity for any one that has had a loved one pass away this past
year to come forward and light a candle in their memory.

GOD WON’T GIVE ME
MORE THAN I CAN HANDLE.
False.
Throughout the Bible, people were handed impossible
tasks—Moses freeing thousands, David slaying a giant,
Daniel surrounded by lions in a pit, etc. Do you think
any of these “heroes” of the Bible were in the middle
of such extremely stressful circumstances and
thought, “Well God won’t give me more than I can
handle, so I’ll just keep hanging on”? No. The point
was to show that a possible God is in charge of
impossible situations. The TRUTH is…

Prayers
Heavenly Father, we give thanks for the gift of healing and ask your blessing upon Brynleigh
and all who care for her. Strengthen them we pray and surround them with love. All things we
ask in accordance with your will. Amen.
Heavenly Father, we pray for all who do not know you. We pray for their loved ones who
desire that they be restored to wholeness and right relationship with each other and with you.
Bless them we pray with strength, peace, and love, and guide them in your ways. May we be
conduits of your blessings as we interact with them and support them in their faith journey.
Amen
Heavenly Father, we pray for Bob and for those who are caring for him. Bless him with
your healing power, peace, and strength as he, his family and friends, and his medical team seek
to restore him to health. O Lord, hear our prayer!
