Back by popular demand, the action-packed
Cape Argus SportShow is returning in 2017
to knock your socks off with an even more
exciting line-up!
This three-day sporting showpiece encompasses live shows, sporting celebrities, clinics, exhibitors and games for young and old
alike. From tag rugby, cricket, golf, netball,
paintball, watersports, BMX biking, obstacle
courses and even drone racing, the Cape
Argus SportShow promises to be bigger than
ever. Team players and individuals are welcome to sign up for fixtures on the day of the
event or simply soak in the action on offer.
Clinics and seminars will help players hone their
game, while the Gary Kirsten Cricket Academy
will be in town to dispense invaluable advice.
Inside the two halls, sporting exhibitors will be
on hand with gear and technology for sale.
The event is also host of the third SA Schools’
Sports Summit, where more than 120 schools
and 350 delegates will be in town to discuss
the future of school sport in South Africa.
An action sport and tag rugby arena will sit
beside a paintball court, where the Western Cape Provincial Cup will be contested.
In the middle of venue a freestyle stunt arena is sure to draw crowds, while South African freediver Hanli Prinsloo will demonstrate
the tips for holding one’s breath underwater.
The Cape Argus SportShow 2017 is again being held at Sandringham, Cape Town the
premier outdoor exhibition location in the
country. Located halfway between Cape
Town and Paarl on the N1, it’s easy to reach

Schools Sport Summit
Following the very successful Schools
Sport Summit held in Cape Town in 2016,
the third Schools Sport Summit will coincide
with the Cape Argus SportShow 2017. Some
350 delegates from more than 120 South
African schools, consisting of school principals, coaches and heads of sport, will
attend this Summit. The Summit aims to bring
together leading minds, parents, educators
and key role-players to discuss crucial topics
impacting the South African school sport
scene. These topics include the role sport
plays in educating children, the impact
sport has on the lives of children and expert
comments and case studies that can be
utilised in the South African context to guide
schools towards best practice in sport. The
Summit’s expert panel of speakers will help
inform, motivate and challenge the way
forward for youth sport. Limited space is
available for parents and interested parties.

Food trucks are changing the landscape
of dining around the world and those in
Cape Town are right up there with the best.

The inaugural Cape Argus SportShow featured the country’s most
skilled riders on BMX bikes, MTB bikes, trail bikes, scooters, rollerblades and skateboards - in spectacular, non-stop, action-packed
shows that thrilled and amazed spectators.
THE GRIND OBSTACLE COURSE -
Embrace the challenge
Run, walk, crawl, climb - it does not matter. The Grind is for everyone, from
first timers and young ones to elite athletes. Test your strength, stamina
and mental endurance! Crank up the adrenaline and push your limits!
Conquer your fears and embrace the Grind! You’ll need teammates to
give you a boost - discover camaraderie with fellow participants and be
a team player – no one gets left behind. More than 4 500 participants
are expected to join in the fun at The Grind. More details to follow soon.
TAG RUGBY TOURNAMENT
Tag Rugby®, a non-contact form of rugby where a tackle is made by
pulling a tag off the belt or shorts of the opponent who has the ball,
will be presented for the first time at the Cape Argus SportShow
2017. This game is fast, fun, great for social or corporate team
building and is suitable for boys, girls, men and women of all ages.
At the Cape Argus SportShow a number of activities will be
hosted, including a Youth Tag Rugby® clinic, a mini tournament
for the juniors as well as something for the grown-ups in the form
of a Supercharged Adult Tag Rugby ® Tournament and a Mixed
(women and men) Tournament. Teams can be entered in all the
tournaments. Great prizes and loads of giveaways will be up
for grabs!

Gary Kirsten Cricket Academy
The success of Gary Kirsten’s coaching approach has been
well documented. He is an extremely popular person and
his coaching Academy is constantly assisting coaches and
players all over the world. He and his coaches will be at the
Cape Argus SportShow to assist selected young players on
improving their batting, bowling and fielding techniques.
This is going to be a very popular attraction at the 2017 Cape
Argus SportShow.
I AM WATER -
Free Dive and Breath Holding Demos
Free diving is the sport of holding your breath for as long, as
far,
or as deep as possible... without any scuba equipment.
Based on age-old traditions of subsistence living off the sea, free
diving today is a high-profile competitive sport with world

African Free dive record holder and founder of I AM WATER Ocean
Conservation, Hanli Prinsloo and her team will be hosting exclusive
in-water breath-hold coaching sessions and demonstrations.

will host the Extreme Speaker Box at the Cape Argus SportShow

Man vs Machine
The Gravity Clash action sports Show at the Cape Argus Sport Show
will be bigger and better for 2017. We will be bringing in some new
elements with some bmx Dirt jumping. We will have the riders rolling
in from the top of the 5m high FMX landing and doing some amazing
tricks right next to the FMX riders. The FMX riders will be jumping
side by side doing their amazing choreographed manurers while 10
meters above the ground. We will be joined once again by Brian
Capper doing his world famous XRX show and an exciting new element to his show will be Local trials mountain biker, Dylan Victor. Him
and Brian will be competing in man vs machine and we will see who
will win in that showdown. All this action will be over the 3 days of the
sport show and will be a must see for the whole family. See you there.
DODGEBALL SA
To many it is known as possibly the most fun a human can have, and we
want to share it with the whole of South Africa! In a world dominated by
technology, 9-5 jobs, social media and related distractions we aim to
provide people of all races, ages and genders with the opportunity to break
free and experience a thrilling, active and extremely social activity which is
known as dodgeball! Done in a professional and fun environment whereby
we promote socialising, healthy competitiveness, silliness and sportsmanship to make your dodging, ducking, diving and dipping experience as
memorable as possible!
This event will be open to all ages and we welcome you to come get your
dodge on with us!
SKILLS CLINIC -
Hockey, netball, golf and cricket clinics
Professional Skills Clinics will be presented by top professional
athletes and sports celebrities, for rugby, netball, golf, hockey and
cricket. The Skills Clinics are aimed at fundamental sport skills
development, focusing on the introduction and mastery of sport
skills in a fun learning environment. This is achieved through
maximum ball in hand movements, expert coaching, skills challenges and take home programmes. The take home programmes
will show the parent how to help the child train at home without
parents requiring a Sport Science degree.
ARCHERY TAG
Archery Attack/Tag offers a unique and fun way for people of all ages
to enjoy archery! Archery Attack/Tag is played similar to dodgeball with
our bows and patented foam-tipped arrows. This exciting, action-packed
game offers the ultimate family-friendly experience that engages everyone. Don’t miss out on Tag... The game you never outgrow! Two teams,
consisting of 5 players each playing opposite one another, are separated
by a “safe zone.” Archery Attack/Tag exists to introduce individuals to the
sport of archery through a safe, fun, and unique archery experience.

Experience fast-paced action as you watch South Africa’s provincial
paintball teams showcase their skills in this adrenaline fuelled sport
that has taken the world by storm. Paintball is no longer just a pastime
enjoyed by weekend warriors or by those attending the odd bachelor’s
party. It has evolved into a highly strategic sport that relies heavily on team work,
agility and skill to secure a win. The arena of this exciting sport creates a safe

Argus SportShow’s pump track is a new kind of structure where
the riders use an up and down ‘pumping’ motion to propel the
bicycle, scooter or skateboard forward instead of pedaling. Pump

Come and cheer on South Africa’s best drone racing pilots as they
compete for glory on our full-sized outdoor race track, flying at high
