Sharing/Teaching our Faith
I am in the beginning stages of planning for another wonderful school year of CCD classes on Wednesday nights. We are
in need of catechists {teachers} for a few of our classrooms at both Sacred Heart/St. Augustine and St. James. I am praying that the Holy Spirit is stirring your heart as you prayerfully consider joining an amazing group of volunteers as we lead
our students in their faith in Jesus Christ and the Church. If you are interested please contact Gina to set up a "coffee
date" to talk about our religious education/faith formation program called CCD.
Finance Council Members Thank you very much to Paul Herl and Vickie Goodman for their service on the Finance Council. They have both concluded their term. Welcome to Tami Minge and Michaela Schultejans. Thank you to them for their
service now on the Council. Kent Saylor will now be the Finance Chairperson. Tami Minge will assist Kent in this role.
Dinner for 8 ….Get to know fellow parishioners and enjoy a meal together! Groups of 8 (usually 4 couples) are assigned
and gather together for dinner and fun with each person hosting dinner once. If interested, please contact Adam or Jennifer
Enneking @284-2801 or [email protected]. Sign up sheets in the back of church.

"WE ARE ALL ONE BODY"
1 Corinthians 12: 12, 25-26 reads: "As a body is one though it has many parts, and all the parts
of the body, though many, are one body, so also Christ....but that the parts may have the same
concern for one another. If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it; if one part is honored, all
the parts share it's joy". As a church community, we are much like a body, having many parts,
and also much like a family. We share in prayer in each other's grief and we share in each others joys. We also work side by side- sharing in the love of Christ Jesus through our parishes:
worship, learning, fellowship, service. We need your talents and your time. We have many
ministries that would benefit from your gifts. Please prayerfully consider the following ministries: Lector, Usher, Sacristan, Communion Minister (at mass and to the homebound) Altar
Servers, Music, CCD teachers, CYO events; Meals to sick/new parents, Knights of Columbus,
Altar Society, Adult Faith Formation, Church gardens/grounds, Child Care for parish events and
more! If there is some way that you would like to contribute yourself and time, please contact
the parish office at 284-0888. We would love to speak with you! There is so many good things
we could accomplish for God's glory as the whole body of Christ!
Gospel Family Connection
Family demands can make us feel like Jesus and the twelve apostles. We wish for times of relaxation and renewal, but there are errands to do, household chores to keep up with, volunteer
commitments to keep. These are all good things, but we can be left feeling drained and tired as
we try to keep up. Perhaps we might take the opportunity this week to give ourselves permission to find the rest and relaxation that Jesus seeks for his disciples in today's Gospel. One of
the gifts we can give to one another in our family life is assistance in finding the time and space
to renew ourselves through prayer. As you gather this week, review your family calendar and
spend some time reflecting on your family activities. In particular, ask if your family has an appropriate amount of time for rest and relaxation. If not, discuss ways in which this time for renewal might be included in the week ahead. Read together today's Gospel, Mark 6:30-34. Notice how Jesus tried to find time and space for his disciples to rest and relax after they returned
from their mission. Conclude in prayer together, asking God to help us find time to renew ourselves so that we might be better disciples of Jesus. Pray together the Lord's Prayer. ***1.
This would be great to remember especially during the busy school year. 2. I {Gina} will
be on vacation this week- July 20th- 24th. If you need immediate assistance, please contact the parish office- 284-0888 or send me an email to [email protected] and
I will respond on July 27th.***
