JKCS Society Membership Meeting Friday, April 3 Please remember that our spring membership meeting takes place Good Friday this Thursday at 7:30 here at the school. Also remember that the meeting is open to all members; it’s a great way to stay in touch Monday, April 6 with what is happening at the school as well as the operation of the Easter Monday school. Windows Over the March Break, new windows were installed in three classrooms. They replaced windows that had been in use for over 35 years. This is part of our ongoing campaign to replace all the old windows and part of the commitment to a well-maintained educational facility. Heart and Stroke Any outstanding Heart and Stroke envelopes may be turned in this week; they should be in the office no later than Wednesday. Heart and Stroke - Funds Update Helping Hands There is a Helping Hands Committee Meeting this evening at 7:15 p.m. Helping Hands - Cheese Orders Orders were due back into the office today but we will continue to accept orders until tomorrow, Tuesday, March 24. Thank you for your continued support. Report Card Envelopes Please return report card envelopes to the school this week. We have surpassed our fundraising goal! Our students have raised just over $2400.00 to date. Taking part in the Heart and Stroke fundraiser also benefits our school as we use the points earned to order sports equipment. Many thanks to all of those who contributed to the Grade 8 hot chocolate fundraiser at the Watford arena during school skating. Pizza Day Bake Sale(s) Pizza Day is this Wednesday, March 25. Reading Partners Our annual Reading Partners programme winds up this Wednesday morning. It remains a great way to bring students from different grades together. It also serves to encourage reading; please continue the practice at home. Hot Chocolate Sales This Thursday, March 26 our grade 8 students will be providing refreshments at the Spring Membership Meeting, donations will go towards the grade 8 grad fund. We will be reflecting and learning from the multitude of lessons we can learn from these ancient communities. It should be an exciting adventure! Food works continues this week! Our first Vocab quiz will take place this Wednesday, March 25. Grade 8 French: This Friday our quiz will be on comprendre and connaître. Keep in mind that these verbs may very well show up on our exam! Sp o r t s I nform at io n BASKETBALL: While basketball season is over, we're very thankful to Mr. Bill Hoogland for volunteering to make this a possibility for our students. Students were able to build on their understanding and enjoyment of the game, which was a real win-win. HOCKEY: Congratulations to our students who participated at the BDCS Hockey Tournament on Wednesday, March 11th. Despite a tough start to the day, our Warriors got stronger as the day went on narrowly losing to the top-seeded team in the semifinal. Great job, Warriors!
