Read Romans 12:2. How might unthinking conformity to the world’s
way of celebrating Christmas be stifling to the spiritual growth you
might otherwise experience during the season? What are some of the

family during the Christmas season?

Message 1: “Help for Your Christmas Holiday”
Romans 14:5-6a
Memory Verses:
One person thinks that some days should be set aside as holy and
another thinks that each day is pretty much like any other. There are

convictions of conscience. What’s important in all this is that if you
keep a holy day, keep it for God’s sake…
Romans 14:5-6a
Open: What do you like most about the ways your family observes
Christmas? What would you most like to change? Why?
Read 1 John 3:18. Discuss some practical ways that you can express

What do you think your spouse, children or loved ones need most

Study: Read Romans 14:5-6a.
If you knew that you were really free to design your Christmas holiday
observance in a way that (1) conformed to your personal convictions,
(2) satisfied your personal preferences, and (3) still honored the Lord,
what would it end up looking like?
Read James 2:14-16, and Matthew 25:31-40. What ideas do these
passages elicit in your mind for serving those most in need of your
generosity at Christmas?

the birth of Jesus, is there any reason--in your opinion—to observe one?
Why or why not?
What will you intentionally do differently this Christmas to keep the day
for God’s sake?
