Kennedy Klips Volume 13, Issue 4 www.cityofkennedy.com April 25, 2011 Kennedy’s Summer Rec Program This summer, Kennedy has the numbers for two baseballs teams. The teams include “Small Fry”, grades K-2, and “Big Fry”, grades 3-4. All other teams/age groups will play in Hallock. Coach Jeff Keller will again be managing the program, couching both teams and working with the kids. Practice and games will take place at the Kennedy ball field. A travel game and tournament schedule, if any, has yet to be confirmed. Coach Keller says, “Tentatively, practice will be twice a week, at 8:00 a.m., beginning on Wednesday, June 1.” Additionally, Keller says an effort will be made to schedule games at least one evening per week. Details will be made available once they’ve been confirmed, however, participation cost will be much the same as in years past. Any questions may be directed to Coach Keller at Kittson Central School. The City of Kennedy is looking for donations and fund raising efforts to finance this year’s summer rec program. Checks may be made out and sent to the “City of Kennedy”. Fund raising ideas may be brought to Mayor Todd Truedson. Odds and ends… The Kennedy Community Garden News The Kennedy “Green Team” welcomes our new member and summer volunteer, Rick Peterson. Rick has volunteered to drive our water truck this summer. Thanks Rick! We could still use a back-up driver, maybe for an occasional Friday morning. Please keep us in mind... KHS Alumni Association Randy Swanberg, Sandy Lindgren, Rich Deere, Barry and Kristi Langen have stepped forward to get the ball rolling on the formation of a KHS Alumni Association. I’m sure they will continue to welcome anyone else interested in working with them. Stay tuned for details.
