Push Up-‐Ring Row Study Guide 1. The belly & butt should remain squeezed tight during both the push up and ring row. 2. By flexing the butt, the lower spine is being stabilized. 3. By flexing the belly, the middle spine is being stabilized. 4. By tucking the chin, the upper spine is being stabilized. 5. Loading order means that whichever joint bends first, carries the most weight. 6. The shoulder joint bends first when executing the push up with proper form. 7. At the bottom position of the push up, the forearms should be vertical. 8. During the push up and ring row, the elbows should be externally rotated. 9. If the orientation of the push up is changed to a supine (face up) position, the movement would become a ring row. 10. Shoulders should be pinned back during a ring row.
