The four years I attended Concrete Toboggan during my time at the University of Manitoba are
the four best memories I have of university. Being a Spirit Judge to me means getting to help
other budding young engineers have those same crazy, exciting, and unforgettable great times!

What!does!being!a!Spirit!Judge!mean!to!you?!!!
Being a Spirit Judge means contributing to a competition I love in a way I haven’t been able to
before. It also allows me to be a part of the driving force that makes this competition so
amazing; the spirit is what keeps people coming back year after year. When you’re a Spirit
Judge, you are a role model for what a great competitor is, showing the new competitors what
makes GNCTR so special and I am so excited to be a to be a part of that!

GNCTR is all about having an amazing time while doing crazy things and meeting awesome
people. It’s the Spirit Judges’ job to foster a fun and loving environment where the competitors
can do this.

To me, being a Spirit Judge means being a part of a prestigious team tasked with promoting
and judging the levels of spirit at probably the greatest engineering competition in the country.
As a well known spirited individual throughout my university career it is a great honour to
take on this role.

A Spirit Judge must be the symbol of spirit to the competition. A figure in which the kids can
look up to and say, “Yes, I would like to have more fun please!” For fun brings everyone closer
together, and fun is straight up fun. SPIRIT! FUN! PICKLES; making veggies fun since 1867.

It means I get to come back and contribute to a competition that has given so much to me. I
think GNCTR is rad and my sister made me join, and it has been tubular since.
