Carrie White is a misfit. At school, she is an outcast who is bullied by the popular crowd,
and virtually invisible to everyone else. At home, she’s at the mercy of her loving, but cruelly
over-protective mother. But Carrie’s just discovered she’s got a special power, and if pushed
too far, she’s not afraid to use it …
NOTE: This show contains mature language and subject matter.
Audition dates:
(open to Beck Center students ages 12 to 19*)
Saturday, January 7: 2:30-5:30pm
& Sunday, January 8: 1:00 to 4:00 pm
Callbacks: Monday, January 9 between 5:30 - 8:00pm

What to Prepare:
Actors are asked to prepare the following (Memorization is strongly encouraged):
1) A musical theater song, either up-tempo or ballad, up to one minute long. An
accompanist is provided. Sheet music is encouraged.
2) A dramatic monologue, up to one minute long.

Our 2016-17 Youth & Teen Theater Season is presented by
the Mort and Iris November Philanthropic Fund.
Potential Rehearsals: February 6 – March 18, 2017

Mon, Tue, Weds, Thurs, Fri: between 5:30 – 9:00pm
•
Saturdays: between 2:30 – 6:00pm
•
Sundays: between 1:00-4:30pm
This is the earliest date we would start. The show will NOT be rehearsing every day or
the full time range listed. The team will pick the days that best accommodate
everyone’s schedules – once conflicts and availability are known for the above dates.
Tech Week: March 19 – 23, 2017

Sunday from 1:00 – 9:00pm and Weeknights between 5:00 – 9:30pm
All cast members are expected to attend ALL rehearsals during Tech Week.
Performance dates: March 24 – April 2, 2017
All cast members are required to attend all performances.

Fridays, March 24 & 31 at 7:30pm
•
Saturdays, March 25 & April 1 at 7:30pm
•
Sundays, March 26 & April 2 at 3:00pm
•
Special Student Matinee: Thursday, March 30 at 10:00am
(NOTE: This will require missing school that morning.)
* Youth and Teen Theater roles are only eligible to students who will be enrolled in our
Winter/Spring 2017 semester. Actors do not need to be enrolled at the time of the auditions,
however, participation in the actual production does require Beck Center enrollment in our
Winter/Spring 2017 semester. Students do not need to be specifically enrolled in a Theater class at
Beck Center to qualify. Students enrolled in a Winter/Spring 2017 semester class in Beck Center’s
Dance, Music and Visual Arts Departments are equally eligible.
