Facilitated by:
Ingrid Rose PhD, Dipl.PW, MAPS
Kay Ryan MHSc, Dipl.pw
Dying is not just about the individual patient,
but also about those around them and the
environment in which they find themselves. In
this challenging time during the dying process,
we may find ourselves having to deal with
relationship conflicts, mood changes, uneasy
atmospheres that go against our inherent
beliefs, and fears around dying. We may
also encounter organisational systems and
methods that conflict with our own approach
as well as disturbing issues of power and
control. How do we deal with these challenges
in a useful and creative way while at the same
time support the patient in their own process?
In this workshop we will be developing
the practitioner’s skill level in supporting
relationship and family communication. We will
also be learning how to act within a system
in order to facilitate interaction and deepen
communication, and to bring insight into family
and group dynamics.
Facilitators:
Earth – Based Psychology: Path Awareness.
Arnold Mindell (2007) Parts 3 and 4.
Sunday 13 April
Times: 10am to 5pm
Cost: $450
Early bird fee: $425 if paid before March 2
Venue:
Ingrid Rose Ph.D. MAPS
Ingrid has over 30 years experience as a
psychologist, working with individuals, couples,
families, groups, children and adolescents in
all kinds of environments and contexts. During
this period she has engaged in studying and
implementing techniques and approaches useful
for those with terminal illness, in persistent
vegetative states, coma, or near death. She has
given workshops and trainings internationally,
to hospice workers, chaplains, nurses, social
workers and psychology students. She has a
private practice, is a Dean and faculty member
at the Process Work Institute in Portland,
Oregon, USA.
Rather than avoid difficulties, we will be
entering the interactions and inner experiences
of all involved in a facilitative and open manner,
discovering unexpected guidance, through
welcoming all experience as a teaching for the
dying process.
