Habitat for Humanity International Founded in 1976, Habitat for Humanity International seeks to end poverty housing worldwide. An ecumenical Christian housing ministry, Habitat works in partnership with people in need to build simple, decent, healthy houses. The houses then are sold to partner families at no profit, through zero-interest loans. At work in more 60 countries around the globe, Habitat for Humanity has built houses sheltering some 350,000 people.
