Finnish Espotel Oy and the Norwegian company Virinco AS have launched cooperation on
providing WATS remote management and data collection solutions for PROCKET
production testing systems.
Espotel presents a remote management solution for the collection of test results produced by the
Procket test system, for updating the test sequences, and for carrying out statistical analyses of the
results. The solution is based on the WATS technology developed by Virinco. Espotel also offers
value added services built on top of the remote management platform.
Espotel has exclusive rights to represent Virinco products in Finland and Poland.
WATS Inside
Espotel has integrated the WATS solution as part of the Procket test system. As a result, it can be
used for controlled remote updating of test sequences as and when the testing requirements
change. WATS preparedness is delivered as standard with all new test systems, and old products
can also be upgraded with the solution. WATS automates the processing of test results and
provides easy access to the production yield and other key figures.
WATS is available either as a cloud-based solution or integrated in the customer’s IT infrastructure
as a server-based solution. Both of these solutions enable automatic transfer of test results from
various production plants or contract manufacturers into a centralised database. If necessary,
WATS can also be integrated in existing test result analysis systems, and it is also easy to transfer
test results from various factories to existing analysing tools using WATS.
Espotel offers the integration of the WATS system in other test systems, too. Espotel aims to utilise
the WATS technology to implement value added services for the maintenance of test systems,
production monitoring and proactive operations to improve the quality and yield of production.
Connected Factory
As production is distributed between different factories and moving further afield, the need for
reliable production testing and real-time visibility increases. A testing solution that is the property of
the product owner will enable flexible transfer and duplication of production between production
plants while guaranteeing high quality of products regardless of the production location. Remote
data collection will provide direct savings when problems in production are detected immediately
and can be tackled swiftly. Remote management enables maintenance of test systems, for
example, updating of test cases, without the need of travelling to the location.
