GREAT NEWS!
The Federation’s governing body have approved the
change in age range for the Infant School meaning that
we can now take 2 year olds. If you have a 2 year old,
then please come and speak to us about how to enrol.
From September, our Nursery will be operating under a
new name ‘Oasis Day Nursery.’ Look out for more info
soon!
Children in Reception have been exploring different parts of a plant using a magnifying glass.
They have also read the book ‘Jasper’s Beanstalk’ and have completed their own beanstalk
story. The children shown in the pictures below spent two days working independently on their
books and each completed 13 pages of writing – wow!

Look at this piece of writing by Rhys in 1G!
He has been trying very hard in class to
focus and manage his behaviour for
learning. He planned and wrote this story
with a little bit of support and the progress
he has made this year is clearly visible.

Richard, Ryley and Hayden have been
using number facts that they know to
show how addition calculations can
be solved. For example instead of
counting on 5 from 17 to work out 17
+ 5 they used the number bond
17+3 = 20 and then 20 + 2 = 22 to
work mentally. Great work!

HAPPY EASTER!
It was great to see so many parents
in the hall visiting Year 2’s exhibition
of learning. The hall was full of
artwork and writing linked to their
Australia topic.

Here is a picture of Evie with her fossil
that she has made. 3St made them in
class using plaster of paris and then
painted them. Afterwards, they wrote a
cross curricular piece where they
generated instructions on how to make
a fossil with someone at home.

Year 5 Production Special
Congratulations to everyone on a fantastic performance.
Y6 Construction
Challenge
The children had a
competition to kick
start their DT work on
'strengthening
structures.' In teams,
they had to build a
structure to support a
tennis ball and got
awarded points for
height, strength and
visual appeal.
