THE RIGHT FOOT Empowering Sydney`s young dance

THE RIGHT FOOT
Empowering Sydney’s young dance artists through new
partnership with Riverside Theatres
24.07.15
Throughout September 2016, DirtyFeet in partnership with Riverside Theatres is presenting
The Right Foot - FREE creative dance workshops for people with and without disability
between the ages of 14 and 26 years, providing a creative activity for those who may
otherwise not have access to dance.
Facilitated by Brianna Kell and Margot Politis, The Right Foot encourages participants to
be at the helm of what they create and perform. The workshop series is an important
professional pathway for aspiring young artists offering linkages to the dance sector, as well
as excellent training and skills development relevant to current contemporary dance
practices. The result is a platform for Sydney’s young dance artists to find their creative
voice and the confidence to express their own ideas through movement.
“We have disabilities, but it doesn't matter: we can all move and be together and no one
cares about the differences.” 2015 participant Brianna Lowe.
