Teachers continue to attend workshops towards Math Education
FDK has a new format in lieu of report cards there will now be a Communication

expectations in categories and there is anecdotal comments provided- next year
it will be implemented for all 3 learning assessments; this is being implemented
province wide and will benefit children as it is a developmental continuum that
takes into account each child’s individual starting point before evaluative reports
begin in Grade 1

St. Marcellinus Guidance Counsellor has been contacted to try to arrange for
volunteers for the evening, they will look into students that need to complete
Community Service and get back to Ashley; we need 5-6 volunteers
It is intended that there be a person counting attendees to the skate day so as to
make future preparations easier

possible some of the grant will be put towards new equipment, there is $400
remaining from the pro-grant (need approval from Mr. Ferrao)

Ashley Medeiros has spoken to Bobby’s Hideaway and arranged for the syrup

2.5 cases have been ordered, it was suggested this be increased to 3 given there
were shortages last year

Spray and foil stocks need to be confirmed
Ashley Medeiros will purchase 40 foil containers to transport the pancakes to the
classrooms
Volunteers are needed for 8:30am- 2 per station, 10 stations, need to provide
griddle, there are 2 griddles at the school
Mr. Reale knows where the stations are to be positioned so as to ensure no
fuses are blown
Each volunteer is to bring a spatula, scoop and bowl
There are typically 2 buckets of mix per floor
This year there will be an allergen alert station as the batter is not certified nut

Movie Night
-
-
Karina Gigante indicated concern that there were a lot of children unsupervised
at the movie night; children were wandering the hallways and going to the
bathrooms and on the stage to hang out; there were also children waiting to be
picked up at the end of the evening
It needs to be stressed that this is a community engagement event and parents
need to stay with their kids
In the future School Council will have people set up at the entryway as well as at
gym doors to monitor attendees
Nobel Phipps indicated that the January Movie night is cancelled ; April is the
next movie night, if available the movie will be “Sing”
Pizza Day
-
-
Karina Gigante indicates that when buses were cancelled 2 weeks in a row on
Pizza Day kids were collecting their pizza the day after and teachers were having
to distribute it
Mrs. Metivier indicates that if buses are cancelled pizza should be cancelled or
delayed to another day
Also Pizza Orders are due in February and it was discussed giving more lead
time to parents to complete the forms
Budget Report and Bank Account Review

Youth Minister comes and talks to grade 9-12, they are considering opening this
up to grade 8, Mrs. Metivier will ask Grade 8 teachers and discuss it with the
