A scenic 45-minute dhoni ride across the vast Kanifushi Lagoon lies the tiny uninhabited island of
Dhidhdhoo. Shaped like a mirrored small scale version of Kanifushi Island; Dhidhoo island is home to
tall palm trees and lush green vegetation, a surrounding white beach with ancient reef structures and
rock pools providing a serene and relaxing location. The island is known to be a hub for turtle nesting
also contains remnants of structures built by wood cutters and coconut collectors from the decades past.
Relax on its soft white beaches and enjoy the salty breeze, enjoy a picnic basket with an assortment of
food, snacks and beverages will be provided as you spend half a day enjoying the naturally beautiful

Tuna Fish canneries are one of the first kinds of factories in the Maldives. The Felivaru Tuna canning
factory plant was established on the island of Felivaru in 1977, and is among the busiest in the region
Over the last 30 years the plant has now expanded into producing over 150,000 cans per hour and
are still not able to meet the rising overseas demand for Maldives Canned Tuna

Naifaru Island is known as one of the most populated small islands in Maldives, and is more of a town
island than a fishing or agricultural village type island. More of a bustling community including a local
bank and post office and a selection of local restaurants and cafés
Explore the winding streets and the peoples of the island, known to be lounging around the beach
sides and small alcoves. The people of Naifaru are known amongst the nation for their distinctly strong
dialect and manner of speech, sounds of local music and sights of smiling friendly faces are common in
the island of Naifaru.

HISTORICAL JOURNEY TO KURENDHOO ISLAND
Situated on the south-western coast of the Atoll, Kurendhoo is known to have had settlements as early
as the Buddhist period in Maldivian history
Predominantly used as an agricultural island due to the undersoil being made of a very hard
sedimentary layer of sand stone which holds moisture which had facilitated the composting of buried
vegetable matter there is evidence that suggests various gardens in other nearby islands, and were
renowned for their shallots
Kurendhoo island is also known for the tomb of Sheikh Najeebul Habashee; a royal cleric who recited
Quaran and other prayers in the then royal palace. The tomb is built on the very spot where he died
and was buried, and is an attraction to many locals and tourists
