JAL to Sponsor Despicable Me Minion Mayhem Ride,
the Upcoming Attraction in the World’s Largest*1

and USJ Co., Ltd., the operator of Universal Studios Japan (Headquarters: Konohana-ku, Osaka;
President & CEO: J. L. Bonnier), entered into a corporate marketing partnership agreement in 2015. As the
theme park’s official airline, USJ and JAL have conducted joint marketing and developed products and
services that offer high-level, value-added experiences. JAL is teaming up with the theme park to sponsor
Despicable Me Minion Mayhem Ride, the main attraction of Minion Park, the world’s largest*1
Minion-themed area which is scheduled to open on April 21, 2017.
Despicable Me Minion Mayhem Ride, sponsored by JAL, features a giant nano-seam dome screen with a
diameter of more than 20 meters and a state-of-the-art high-definition laser-projection system*2. USJ
guests, who will be immersed in the world of the accident-prone Minions, will be able to experience the
ultimate in realistic sensations...along with a series of unexpected surprises.
Minion Park, "the world's largest*1 Minion area,” is inspired by Illumination Entertainment's Despicable Me
franchise. There are so many Minions in “Minion Park” and now all guests, from children to adults, may
now celebrate the world of Gru's subversive and sweet henchmen alongside them.
Minion Mayhem Ride Sponsorship Campaign Kicks Off on February 1, 2017
USJ plans to hold the following program to commemorate JAL’s sponsorship of the Despicable Me Minion
Mayhem Ride.

Invitation to JAL Premium Night (the entire park will be reserved for selected guests)
A drawing will be held from February 1 to May 7, 2017. Winners will be selected from guests that fly
domestically*1 with JAL and will be invited to attend JAL Premium Night on July 7, 2017 (Friday).
Winners will have the park and its attractions, including the Minion Mayhem Ride, all to themselves!

Travel Package including the Special Invitation to be the first to experience the Minion Mayhem
Ride
From March 2017, JAL plans to sell limited no. of travel package, including the special invitation to
be the first to experience the Minion Mayhem Ride prior to its grand opening, with domestic flights by
JAL.※2

From March 2017, JAL plans to sell airline tickets that come with a special express pass*3, to
shorten waiting times for certain attractions, including the Minion Mayhem Ride.

*3: Applies to discount fares for some private inclusive tours.
JAL also plans to offer other attractive services for its JAL Mileage Bank members. This includes the use of
mileage points toward a Studio Pass (for normal operating hours) and the use of the JAL sponsor lounge
located in the park. Details will be made available on JAL’s corporate website at a future date.
