June/July 2016 - The Bridge Saskatoon

June / July 2016
Dear Partners of The Bridge,
“…he who began a good work in you
will carry it on to completion…” –
Philippians 1:6
When we first started planning for a
new location, we had no idea where
we would be. Then came the exciting
moment that we purchased the Luna
Metalworks building in the fall of
2014 and began planning for the
transformation that would turn a
metal shop into a center of ministry
on 20th Street.
The Bible verse above contains two
key truths:
- God is faithful to the end
- God will finish what He has
started
We have hung onto these truths
throughout the construction process
and it is our confidence in these
truths that allowed us to move forward even when we didn’t know how
we would get there.
I am excited to confirm that God is
indeed faithful! We are nearly done
our Phase 1 construction work at the
new location for The Bridge! It is so
exciting to see the kitchen cabinets
installed along with the new walk-in
cooler and freezer. Painting is progressing in the remainder of the
building in preparation for the final
touches.
Our planned startup is now sometime in September. The completed
building will allow us to resume our
full slate of activities, including many
more volunteer opportunities.
It is your giving, prompted by the
Holy Spirit that
has provided over
$2 million toward
this project already. We have
full confidence
that God will finish
what he started

funds required to Board Chair

can play in bringing this construction
project to completion.
We are very excited to start the next
chapter of ministry at The Bridge.
Thank you for your support for those
we serve at The Bridge!

Even with our limited facility over the past year, we
have still been able to have a significant impact on the
people around us through… These are some highlights!
YOUTH
BIBLE STUDY
We ran youth this year out of a few
youth leader homes, this played a
huge part in creating a family atmosphere and much deeper relationships
with the youth then ever before.
Here are some of the highlights of
our year!
At Soar Saskatchewan in February, 4
of our youth took part in a 10 day
youth mission/discipleship program
in Saskatoon put on by MB mission. In March three of our youth got
baptized.
As a result of God's impact on our
youth through SOAR our youth requested and took initiative to start a
prayer, worship and teaching night
for those wanting to grow deeper.
Please pray with us for wisdom and
grace as there are many things our
youth deal with one a daily basis.
Pray for our current leadership team
and that God would
bring more leaders
for this coming year.
Finally we are excited to take the youth
to 2 bible camps this
summer.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and
light to my path”. How great it is to
see the transformative power of
God’s Word. The Wednesday evening
adult Bible study has continued to
maintain momentum. It’s a blessing it
to see a depth of thought expressed
through quality questions and rich discussions as we have been
exploring both our
identity and security
in Christ.

PASSAGE HOUSE
Praise God that men’s lives are being
changed through the work of the Holy Spirit at the Transitional Program
House.
In the past six months we have witnessed our first Phase 3 grad, two
Phase 1 grads, and one Phase 2 grad.
The men appreciate all the prayer
that has gone into supporting their
home, while they work on transforming their lives from
desperation to hope,
God is truly answering these prayers as

“I suffered from depression and
drug/alcohol abuse, suicidal
thoughts were enveloping me. One
day I just couldn’t take life anymore, so I cried out to God and was
given the opportunity to live at the
Passage House. So I took it.
This was the smartest decision I
could make. Because of God’s grace
I’m now living an awesome and
happy life. I wouldn’t trade this for
anything. I serve an awesome God!”

KID’S CLUB
I have been volunteering at The
Bridge for the past 6 years. I began
volunteering with the Kids Club program in November 2010. Since then I
have taken on the role of Kid’s Club
Coordinator. I have received amazing mentorship, and developed great
friendships with people there. I am
so grateful for The
Bridge and the ways I
have been transformed through serving there!
