Lunchtime Clubs
Table Tennis with Danny
Every Thursday lunchtime
the Bottom Hall becomes the
venue for a lively table tennis
club run by Danny, with a
different class involved each
week. The children love
playing ‘around the world’
and it really brings out their competitive spirit!
DS Club with Madeline
Madeline runs a different
lunchtime club each day. On
Thursdays
KS2
children
take part in a DS club. They
really enjoy being part of the
group and playing the games.
Many thanks to Madeline and Danny for providing
the children with these fun lunchtime activities.

Celebrations!
This half-term the children in Early Years have been
finding out about different celebrations. There have been a
range of celebrations and festivals that have taken place
this half-term, including Guy Fawkes’s Night, Diwali and
children’s birthday celebrations. Early Years have been
taking part in all sorts of exciting activities including
cooking different foods, making diva lamps, writing
greetings cards and reading
stories linked to these exciting
celebrations, such as ‘Rama &
Sita’ and ‘Kipper’s Birthday’.
This week they have been
learning about the story of
Christmas in preparation for
their nativity performance at the
end of term. The children love
celebrating!
Netball
Our netball team have taken part
in the Islington Primary Schools
girls’ netball championship. They
gave their very best, playing
exceptionally well, and they
really enjoyed the experience.
 Ants can lift 50 times their own weight and
 An ostrich's eye is bigger that it's brain.
 Starfish don't have brains.
 It is possible to lead a cow upstairs...but not
downstairs.
Science workshops
Orange Class have taken part in the National Grid
Science Festival. They did some exciting hands-on
science experiments and activities, such as making a
roller coaster to demonstrate forces and learning how to
build circuits. They learned a great deal and had a lot of
fun in the process.
Chatterbooks
Once a week a group of Year 5 children get together with
Sue for their Chatterbooks club where they read and talk
about the books they have been reading. The genre of the
books changes every two weeks and they all have
different titles, so the conversation is lively and engaging!
The club also involves art activities and the members
keep a reading log, which is kept in
the special book bag they received.
Congratulations Dji Dji
We are delighted to let you know that Dji Dji
was successful in the Islington district
football trials and now plays for the borough
of Islington. This is a brilliant opportunity for
him to showcase his skills to scouts from all
over the country on a weekly basis. We
can’t wait to hear how he does in the team.
Well done and huge congratulations to
Dji Dji, who is a credit to our school.
