Hi
I am Dom Boyd’s mum. Our boys play rugby together for STFS. I am contacting you via the
school to ask if your son would be available on the training day; Monday 8th December at
12.30pm for an exciting video shoot which I am organising at the Sir Thomas Fremantle
School.
What is the video all about?
I work for a company which offers a physical exercise programme designed to improve the
performance of the cerebellum, the 'skill centre' of our brain. The ‘STEP2Progress’
programme supports individuals to overcome and cope with some of the symptoms
associated with learning differences such as dyslexia, dyspraxia and ADHD. It improves
focus, concentration, balance, eye tracking and coordination.
One of the graduates of the STEP2Progress programme is the retired international Scottish
rugby player Kenny Logan. Hear about his story with STEP2Progress here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OTyJqD3jDE&feature=youtu.be
On Monday December 8th I will be shooting a new video about the programme with Kenny
Logan and 3 of our recent graduates aged 13/14.
Why has my son been invited?
Your son has been selected because he is in the school rugby team and therefore we have
assumed he would like to meet Kenny Logan and be photographed with him in a group shot
for the school to display and publish.
What will my son be doing?
We would really appreciate it if your son could be an ‘extra’ in the video – this will simply
involve being in the background of various shots working at a desk, walking between
classrooms and possibly playing some rugby. There will be no close ups and no interaction
between the cameramen and your son. He will simply be in the background making the
whole environment feel more real!
What will my son need for the shoot?
Your son needs to arrive in school in his full uniform and blazer.
He should bring in his charged iPAD, his pencil case and his school bag and some LUNCH!
He should also bring in his rugby kit.
How will my son travel to and from school?
Monday December 8th is an inset day for the pupils and so there is no school that day.
Please can you arrange for your son to be dropped at school at 12.30 and collected at
3.30pm.
Will there be any STFS staff in school while the shoot is taking place?
Yes, there will be staff in school. Mr Lyon will be there for some, if not all, of the time and I
am hoping that Mr Temple and Mr Payne will be available to organise some rugby!
If travel is an issue please give me a call and I will chat to Mr Lyon about alternative options.
My number is 07765 220378. I can also be emailed at: [email protected]
Please let me know as soon as possible if your son will be available to take part.
It should be good fun and quite an experience for them all!
Thanks,
Millie Boyd
