Another 40cm settled on the mountain yesterday afternoon, what an awesome start to August. There is some drizzle this morning with light winds. The expected top temperature between 9am and 3pm is +1°C. Weather Village +4°C. A white and slushy wake up in the village this morning, as blizzards yesterday were met with some overnight drizzle. There is a light drizzle and breeze in the village. Today’s expected top temperature between 9am and 3pm is +6°C. Snow Conditions Over 1m of snow has fallen in the past two days, blanketing the resort from top to bottom. Unfortunately, overnight drizzle means it will be wet and very heavy going. Snow Riding There is even more of the mountain to explore today, thanks to Mother Nature's winter kindness. It will be wet, heavy and slow going - so stick to the groomed. Friday Flat is the perfect slope for beginners and first timers, with runs-a-plenty for lower intermediates to be carved in the popular cruiser area. The Basin is the groomers pick today, with Alberts Amble and High Noon the go for intermediates. The more advanced should look for top to bottom riding on the groomed Supertrail and World Cup. Terrain Parks The Monster Bagjump will open when the weather eases. The High Noon Terrain Park features: a 30 stair hand rail, man-made cliff drop with 6m hangover box, 35ft and 40 ft jumps in a row, 6m down box, 10m down/flat/down rail, 8m C-box, 8m flat box, 2m pole jam, bonk bin, lift tower rail 6.5m. The Cruiser Beginner Terrain Park has two 5ft jumps, two 10ft jumps, a 6m box and a 3m box. Wombat World at Friday Flat includes tunnels, rollers and a small jump for the kids. Groomed Runs Basin Run, Alberts Amble, Ballroom, Eagle Way, Friday Flat, High Noon, Lennys Leap, Meadows, Supertrail, Squatters Run, Sundowner, The Traverse, True Blue, Village Trail, World Cup, and Walkabout. Lifts Operating 12 lifts are expected to open today. Karels T-Bar, Easy Rider T-bar, Kosciuszko Express, Snowgums, Antons T-bar, Basin T-bar, Cruiser, Gunbarrel, Merritts, two Snow Runners and the Easy Does It Chairlift. Bureau Forecast Wednesday: possible late snow showers. Thursday: snow showers. Friday: snow shower. What's On The Thredbo mountain hosts do daily tours of Thredbo from 11am at the top of the Gunbarrel Express. They're the ones in the bright yellow jackets and big smiles. Closed beyond Thredbo due to a large tree across the road. Tip of the Day Snow fell in places we never thought it could, over one metre of snow - now boy that is good.
