same time provide you with valuable physical and mental exercise. These programs provide
great social interaction opportunities while helping increase your fitness level.

ARDIO FITNESS! Mondays 5:30pm-6:15pm Cost: $57.00
Join cardio fitness instructor Joline Sewell for this specially designed cardio program for special
needs, ages 15 and above. This program meets at the Civic Park Community Center Lounge, 1375
Civic Dr. in Walnut Creek.
January 23rd, 2017—March 27th, 2017 Nine Weeks
No Class February 20h
Wear loose comfortable clothing—Shorts are NOT recommended
Drop off and pick up at Civic Park Community Center
OGA! Wednesdays 6:00pm-6:45pm Cost: $63.00
Join yoga instructor Kristen Stewart for this specially designed yoga program for special needs,
ages 15 and above. This program meets at the Civic Park Community Center Conference Room, 1375
Civic Dr. in Walnut Creek. It is highly recommended that all students bring a mat.
January 18th, 2017—March 22nd, 2017 Ten Weeks

ARATE! Thursdays 5:30pm-6:15pm Cost: $63.00
Join Sensei Preston Jones for this great adaptive martial arts program for special needs
participants of all ages. This program meets at the Civic Park Community Center Assembly Hall,
1375 Civic Dr. in Walnut Creek.

We’ll return to the Center by 8:30p.m. for pick-up.
Dances are $7.00 at the door

All dances will begin at 7:00 pm and end promptly at 9:00 pm

January 14th
Golden State Railroad Museum
Richmond, CA
$15.00 - Time: 12:00 am - 4:00 pm - Limit 20
This wonderful 10,000 square foot museum has over 200 feet of public walkway to enjoy one of the
areas largest model train exhibits. The highly-detailed model train layouts represent prototypical
scenery in Northern and Central California. The exhibit run both freight and passenger trains typical
of the steam era through modern day diesels. Bring a sack lunch to enjoy at Civic Park before we
make our trip to Richmond.
Price includes: transportation & museum entrance.
January 28th
Playland Not-At-The-Beach
Museum of Fun
El Cerrito, CA
$35.00- Time: 10:00 am - 3:00 pm - Limit 20
This great interactive museum has over 30 pinball machines spanning seven decades, video games,
Penny Arcade machines, and challenging carnival games of skill all here waiting to entertain and
amuse you! More fun than any one person should be allowed!
Price includes: transportation & museum admission.
February 11th
Movie Fest
Civic Park Community Center Lounge
$15.00- Time: 11:00 am - 3:00 pm - No Limit
Join us for two surprise movies as we settle in and enjoy delicious popcorn with our movies and
friends. All movies shown will be age appropriate.
Price includes: movie & popcorn. Bring a sack lunch.
Drop off & pick up for all Saturday trips will be from the Civic Park
Community Center: 1375 Civic Dr. in Walnut Creek.
For all Saturday trips be sure to pack a good sack lunch or bring extra
money to buy one there unless the trip states otherwise.

February 25th
Sky High Sports & Pizza
Concord, CA
$45.00 - Time: 10:00 am - 2:00 pm - Limit 20
Trampoline FUN! Join us for an hour of fun bounce time and then enjoy a tasty pizza while we
talk about our greatest trampoline feats. All participants must fill out and sign a Sky High waiver.
Price includes: transportation, admission & lunch.
March 11th
Jack and the Beanstalk & San Francisco
Creamery
Lesher Center for the Arts
$45 .00- Time: 10:00 am - 2:30 pm - Limit 20
This giant of an adventure tale will grow before your eyes as Jack and his friends climb to new
heights. A truly heart-warming story for everyone to share. After this heart-warming tale we will
mosey over to the San Francisco Creamery for a tasty lunch.
Price includes: transportation, admission & lunch.
March 25th
Bowling & Pizza
Clayton Valley Bowl & Mountain Mike’s
$35.00 - Time: 9:30 am - 2:30 pm - Limit 20
Bowling & Pizza...what a great combination. Break out your bowling ball and your bowling shoes and try
to beat your top score as we travel to Clayton Valley Bowl in Concord for another wonderful bowling
experience. After bowling up an appetite we will walk over to Mountain Mike’s Pizza and share our best
bowling stories of the day.
Price includes: Transportation, Bowling, Shoes & Pizza
Drop off & pick up for all Saturday trips will be from the Civic Park

If you have any questions or need further information about our program, please

Newsletters will be sent out to all participants and agencies on the Friday
preceding the last Monday of every third month.
Weekly programs, Saturday excursions, dinner clubs, and dances are subject to change without
notice due to weather conditions, staff availability and/or transportation availability.
Registration is on a first come-first serve basis. In order for any registration to be processed, it
must be accompanied with full payment. If paying by check please make checks payable to:
City of Walnut Creek
A $3.00 administration fee has been added to each event 
and is included in the total fee on the registration form.
All participants must have a medical/emergency form on 
file. Contact Preston Jones for more info.

REMEMBER, in order to go on the excursions, you must
turn in payment accompanying a permission slip, and a
CURRENT medical emergency form must be on file. If you
are a NEW participant, we ask that you join us at one of our
dances or on a local excursion, as this will allow our staff to 
get to know you.

your position on the list.

Refunds/Credits Policies
Refunds are subject to a $10 service
charge per person, per class. Refunds
are processed within three weeks
Refunds will be considered if requests
are submitted up to seven days prior to
the first day of class.
For withdrawal requests received after
the refund period but prior to the first
day of class, a credit valid for one year
may be permitted for use toward a future
course.
Withdrawal requests after the first class
meeting are subject to partial credit, less
service charge and pro-rated course fees.
No refund requests are accepted after
the last class meeting.
All credits on account are valid for a
maximum of one year.
Failure to attend program or “no-shows”
will not be granted a refund/credit.

recreation programs. In consideration of participation in the Program, I voluntarily release the City of Walnut Creek from liability for
property damage, injuries, or death resulting from or in any way connected with that participation (except to the extent caused by the
City’s active negligence or willful misconduct). This Waiver and Release is binding on me, my heirs and dependents. (In this document, references to the City include its officers, agents, employees and volunteers.) In an emergency, I authorize the City to call the
participant’s physician or an ambulance.
