It’s Christmas Tree Festival Time Again!
Oconee Memorial Hospital Foundation will host the 13th Annual Christmas Tree Festival
to benefit GHS Hospice of the Foothills! Mark your calendar and join us to ring in the
holiday spirit and celebrate our wonderful hospice services. All proceeds benefit the
Crippen Endowment for GHS Hospice of the Foothills.
GHS Hospice of the Foothills has been serving the Mountain Lakes region since 1989.
Our program is dedicated to providing medical, nursing and spiritual care and emotional
support to patients and their families. Services include in-home hospice care,
alternative home hospice care for patients in assisted living facilities, general inpatient
hospice care at Cottingham Hospice House and bereavement services.

Bring your family for an evening of FREE entertainment and a visit with Santa! Also,
enjoy holiday performances by local elementary school choirs, beautifully decorated tree
and crafts. There will be cookies, crafts and pastries for sale. And don’t forget to bring
your camera for pictures with St. Nick.
Pass the Purse
Hundreds will gather on November 30 for purse shopping! The fun-filled evening allows
time for catching up on the latest fashions and accessories, as well as a chance to bid
on one-of-a-kind purses and designer handbags. We salute Patti and Gary Cason for
sponsoring this event which usually sells out as soon as tickets go on sale. Hospice of
the Foothills would also like to thank an anonymous donor for sponsoring the Wine Bar
and Barbara Barron for sponsoring the Purse Cakes from The Walnut Street Bakery.

Santa’s Surprises
Throughout the Festival, tickets are available for a Santa Surprise! This year, themed
gift baskets will be filled with incredible items – large and small. Simply place your ticket
in a container next to the gift basket you would most like to win. On Thursday
afternoon, one winning ticket will be drawn for each basket. You do not have to be
present to win.
Themed baskets include items covering various areas of interest: for book enthusiasts,
gardening, gourmet, wine, spa, Charleston, fitness, bourbon, Clemson, coffee,
technology and restaurants.
Hospice of the Foothills and Santa extend thanks to businesses and individuals who
donate amazing products and valuable gift certificates to Santa’s Surprises.
GALA
Enjoy drinks, a delicious 3-course dinner, Dancing with music by the band MAGIC, and
a spirited Live Auction, led by Jon Warther. All of the beautifully decorated items will be
auctioned, along with fabulous trips! This Gala event has become one of the most
popular holiday events in the area.

Freshly brewed coffees, along with tasty pastry samples will be available for your
enjoyment in the Bistro area throughout the week. You can sit and relax, while visiting

Holiday Market
Our Holiday Market is a highly anticipated and popular part of the Christmas Tree
Festival. This year, we will have three (3) rooms packed with hundreds of items
donated by talented local artisans and crafters. Unique knitted and crocheted
wearables, wooden pieces, jewelry, handbags, pottery and Christmas ornaments will be
available. There will be seasonal sections featuring unique wreaths, ceramics and oneof-a-kind items just right for you or someone dear to you. Once again this year, we will
have adorable, affordable items suitable for teachers, mail carriers or bridge club
member gifts. We have also purchased some adorable Christmas items that we know
our customers are going to love. Arrive early for best selections and make plans now to
select gifts to have on hand throughout the coming year.

Cookie Walk
Nothing says Christmas like homemade cookies, candies and pastries. But why back
them yourself when there are so many family favorites and fancy specialties that you
can choose from right here? Check out the selections and fill up a container (that we
provide) with delectable choices. Cookies are $8 per pound and $5 per half-pound.
These treats make great hostess gifts or terrific time-savers for your own entertaining.

As we approach the holiday season, many would like to honor or remember a loved one
or family member in a special way. We have created a wonderful way to pay tribute –
and, at the same time, accomplish some holiday shopping.
A donation of $10 or more to Hospice of the Foothills places a Christmas dove
ornament on our beautiful nine-foot flocked Wings of Love Tree in Oconee Memorial
Hospital’s patient tower lobby. Each gift will be acknowledged with a card to the person
being honored or the family of the memorialized person. Proceeds go to the Crippen
Endowment for ongoing support of hospice services. All gifts are tax deductible. To

*The tree will be on display in the main lobby of the new tower at Oconee
