Add text with text slides and boxes
Text box is a rectangular shape with no background and no outline, for example the placeholder on the
slides. With a Text box, text can be added anywhere on the slides, for annotating graphics or charts, or
providing some additional information. Some text boxes appear automatically on various slide layouts
Add text to the text box
Click inside the Text box place holder to add your text
Enter the text
Click off the slide to deselect text boxes to see the end result
If you change the presentation theme, the text box is just formatted differently but the text inside it
remains

Add text boxes to slides
Select the thumbnail of the slide you want to add text boxes
From the Ribbon, click Home tab  Insert  click Text button  choose a desire type of text
box that you want to insert, for example Text Box
Click and drag the mouse pointer on the slide until you get a desired size of text box
When you release the mouse button, you will see the text box resized for you automatically to
match the font size selected in the Font group on the Ribbon

Enter the text in text box and click off the slide to see the end result
Add text to a shape
You can add text to any shape that you insert into a slide
From the Ribbon, click Home tab  Insert  click Shape button  select a desired shape in list
of groups, for example Curved and Ribbon shape
Click and drag the mouse pointer on the slide to draw the shape until you get a desired shape
and size
Release the mouse pointer to insert the shape to the slide

Double-click inside the shape to add the text and click off the slide to see the end result

Remove text boxes
Click anywhere in the text box you want to remove
Click the text box border
Press DELETE key on the keyboard
Format text inserted in a shape
Apply text styles
Select the text inside a shape

From the Ribbon, click Format tab  Text Styles  move the mouse pointer hover to any text
style in the Text Styles Gallery and click
to expand the gallery
Select a desired text style

Change font face, font size, font color and text alignment
Select the text inside a shape
From the Ribbon, click Home tab  Font  use formatting tools to change font face, font size
and font color of the selected text
From the Ribbon, click Home tab  Paragraph  use the alignment tools to align text position
in the shape

Change character direction
Apply basic character direction option
Select the text inside a shape
From the Ribbon, click Home tab  Paragraph  click Text Direction button  select a desire
text direction you want to applied to the selected text
If desired, increase or decrease the font size for the best result
Click off the slide to see the end result

Custom text direction
Select the text inside the shape
From the Ribbon, click Home tab  Paragraph  click Text Direction button  select Text
Direction Options
In the Format Text dialog box, select Text box
 Use options for alignment such as: Text Layout, Autofit, and Internal Margin groups
 Click OK button

Turn off a bulleted list
Select the text with a bulleted list
From the Ribbon, click Home tab  Paragraph  click on Bulleted List button
Add a numbered list
Select text you want to add a numbered list
From the Ribbon, click Home tab  Paragraph  click on the down arrow next to Numbered
List button  select a desired numbering style

Select text in the list you want to move to next level

Turn off a numbered list
Select the text with a bulleted list
From the Ribbon, click Home tab  Paragraph  click on Numbered List button
Switch between a bulleted list and numbered list
Select the text with a bulleted list or numbered list you want to switch
From the Ribbon, click Home tab  Paragraph  click one of the following
 Numbered List button to change a bulleted list to a numbered list
 Bulleted List button to change a numbered list to a bulleted list
Create custom bullet list
Select the text you want to add a bulleted list or numbered list
From the Ribbon, click Home tab  Paragraph  click the down arrow next to Bulleted List
button  select Define New Bullet

In the Format Text dialog box, do the following:
 Select Bullets and Numbering
 Select Bullets tab
 Click Custom bullets list down arrow  select a desired custom bullet styles
 If desired, click Color list down arrow to change the custom bullet color
 If desired, click Size list down arrow to change the custom bullet size of text
 Click OK button

Change spacing and indents of a paragraph
Indent the entire paragraph
Select the paragraph you want indent
NOTE
Turn off a bulleted list or numbered list inserted in the text
From the Ribbon, click Home tab  Paragraph  click Increase Indent button or Decrease
Indent button to increase or decrease the text indent by a the default value

Use preset spacing options
Select the entire of the paragraph you want to change spaces between lines
From the Ribbon, click Home tab  Paragraph  click Line Spacing button  select a desired
preset option from the drop down list

In the Format Text dialog box, do the following:
 Select Paragraph
 Use Spacing group, use the control tool to adjust spacing between lines in a paragraph
 Click OK button
Find and replace content
Find content in the presentation
Click the Search in Presentation field located on the top right corner of the Ribbon
Type in the keyword in the field
Press return key
PowerPoint take you to the slide contains the first occurrence of the keyword that you are
looking for in the presentation as well as highlight the keyword

Press return key again to go to the next occurrence
Replace content in the presentation
Do one of the following:
Click the down arrow next to the magnifying glass located at the Search field  choose Replace
From the Menu Bar, click Edit  Find  choose Replace

 In the Replace dialog box, do the following:

In the Find what box, type the word you to find

In the Replace with box, type the word you want to replace with

If desired, select any of following options:
 Match case check box
 Find whole words only

Click Find Next button

Click Replace button or Replace All button

Click Close to close the dialog box
