We have Just received Mr. Passman's lotter to vAiioh was
attached a copy of Mr, Saplr's letter addressed to Dr,
Bergraann in Cologne, as follows:
"We have to pay to the AJDC in Marks out of
the 195V55 budget, U00,000o"ii&ll you please pay this indebtedness as soon
as possible, vathout delays".

There is no doubt in my mind that despite this letter Dr,
Bergmann vdll not pay the entire sum of DM, 1,700,000.- to our
office in Frankfurt in April. 1/e hope, however, that at least
he will stick to his promise and pay ES^I. 1,000,000,- in April
and rs-l. 700,000,- in May,
Concerning the additional Deutsch Marks aiuount against the
$ 500,000,- we shall write to you at some later date.
