The details of riding the bus:  Exact fare is required at all times o Off‐Peak All Zones: $2.25 o Peak One Zone: $2.50 o Peak Two Zone: $3.00  Metro has a two‐zone fare system. The Seattle city limits are the zone border.  Generally, peak hours are Monday–Friday, 6–9 a.m. and 3–6 p.m. All other times are off‐peak.  Transfers: Metro paper transfers are valid on only Metro buses. If you are paying cash and use more than one transit system you must pay a fare each time you board a different bus.  Nearly all Metro buses are fully accessible.  *Note*‐Beginning Sept. 29, the free ride area in downtown Seattle, including the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel, will no longer be offered. All riders will be required to pay exact fare upon entry for all King County Metro, Sound Transit and Community Transit buses operating within King County. Departures are every 10 minutes from two stations: Seattle Center station (across from the Space Needle) and Westlake Center Mall station (Fifth and Pine streets). Tickets are $2 each way.
