Walk 2 (circular) – 6.5 miles
Burcott, Rocklane, golf course, Stewkley
Route: Circular walk towards Linslade by-pass  Rocklane, returning via
Stewkley  Burcott. 3 – 4 hrs
At Stewkley
Start:
OS SP881235. Walk down Littleworth from Wing and turn right
into the field behind the stables
A. Follow the hedge line until a way-mark points across the field to join the
farm track – follow this until B
B. Climb the stile from the track into the field and
bear left cutting across fields that are separated
by wire fencing where horses normally graze. The
route goes down to a shallow stream that is crossed
by a bridge. Walk across the arable field keeping
the spinney to your right.
C. Leave the field at the top end via a stile.
Turn sharp L. Follow to the R of the hedge
looking towards the pylon. Go through the
small spinney, then keeping hedge on L to
arrive at the gate adjoining the by-pass.

D. Follow the road embankment for 200yds & enter gate.
Keeping to R of hedge after 500yds enter wood to
arrive at & cross the paddock into Rocklane complex.
E. Go through yard & past barn conversions onto the
track which is the entrance road for Rocklane. Walk
along this track under the trees & TL via a gate into
the grass field. Cross the Soulbury Rd. Walk directly
across the arable field heading for the far corner & look for a hedge gap
to enter field @ F.
F. Cross diagonally to the corner of this small field & cross a stile & ditch
bridge & another stile. TL. After 200yds bear left through hedge gap into
large field. Head diagonally across towards far corner keeping to the left
of a large clump in the middle. When level with clump look for small Ash
tree in the hedge to the left where you will see a gap leading onto the
golf area.
G. Walk to R of ‘hole 3’ directly through a small thicket & cross a muddy
area & small stream. TL to see stile in corner of next field boundary.
nb at this point members may wish to visit ‘hole 19’ as a short-cut
(saves ¾ mile & avoids Wing road walk)
H. Cross stile. Head towards a way-mark post in the field centre to cross the
ditch. TL & after a few yards cross the
stile into larger field. Farm buildings
to right & houses on the horizon. Head
westerly direction – aim to far corner –
500yds L of fm bldgs. Cross next stile.
Follow path with hedge on left – cross
stile now with hedge on right.
I. At farm cross stile & bear R keeping farm
machinery to left, path leads to a rusty
gate – climb over & go between houses
towards pub. TL onto Wing Rd for 1,000yds
until finger post, enter small field
adjacent golf entrance.
J. Cross directly over golf track keeping
driving range to L. Cross stile, bear towards hedge on the L in distance.
Follow along the field edge along the route of telegraph poles. Follow
hedge on left in a straight line for ½ mile.
K. Walk diagonally down a slope to cross bridge over
stream in the far corner. Through the kissing gate and
bear left up a slope to exit the field to the left of
the cottage into Burcott.
