Little Blue River Monthly Meeting Membership Records (Rush County)
Edited by Ruth Dorrel and Thomas D. Hamm
Little Blue River Monthly Meeting was set off from Carthage Monthly Meeting and first
held Eighth Month 23, 1884. Friends had settled here as early as 1834. A preparative meeting
under Walnut Ridge Monthly Meeting was established in 1841, and it was set off with Carthage
Monthly Meeting in 1866. The meetinghouse is located on the Rush-Shelby County line, and
many members were residents of Shelby County.
The following records are in the Indiana Yearly Meeting Archives in the Friends
Collection at Earlham College. Those indicated with an * were examined for this abstract. They
have been supplemented with inscriptions from the Little Blue River Friends Cemetery.
