Andy Fries Flies to 3rd Annual Floyd Kline
Memorial Win at Dog Hollow.
Dog Hollow Speedway hosted the 3rd Annual Floyd Kline Memorial on opening day of
the Thunderdog Showdown. Picking up the $2000 victory was Mercersburg’s Andy Fries. Fries
best a huge field of 53 Ufo Super Late Models for his first-ever DHS Super Late Model win.
Pole sitter Gregg Satterlee and Andy Fries led the 30 car field to the green flag. Fries
stunned the crowd as he out powered Satterlee and took the lead heading into the first
turn. The pair dueled for the top spot with Fries in front. Dan Angelicchio had the best view in
third spot but had his mirror full of Jeremy Miller. The top three stayed the same until eighth
starting Mason Zeigler took over the fourth spot on lap 17. Seven laps later Zeigler moved into
third getting around Angelicchio on a restart.
Fries never faltered and was able to gain an advantage over the field. However, Zeigler
began to reel him in. The pair came up on lapped traffic allowing Angelicchio also to close the
gap. With two laps to go Ziegler had Fries in his sights. Heading down the back stretch on the
final lap, they had three lapped cars in front of them. Zeigler went to the high side as they
entered the final two turns. The Chalk Hill native had a good run coming out of four and drove
up to Fries’ door. As they encountered the lapped cars they bumped but Fries came home the
winner with Zeigler second. Angelicchio was third over World of Outlaw veteran Rick Eckert
and Jeremy Miller. Satterlee fell back to sixth ahead of Dan Stone (from 13th), Waylon Wagner,
Jason Covert (from 27th) and Michael Lake.
Qualifying heat winners were Mike Pegher, Waylon Wagner, Andy Fries, Dave
Blazavich, Jeremy Miller and Rick Eckert. Scoring checkers in the B-Mains were Tim Senic,
Dylan Yoder and Kyle Hardy.
Lias Crate Late Models heats were won by Wendell Pickney, Dave Lee and Andrew
Satterlee. Curtis Heath and Robbie Black won the Steel Block heats. In the AMSOIL Pure
Stocks heat checkers were won by Chris Hickok and Amber Mills while Pat Brehm and Paul
Koffler, Jr. scored 4 Cylinder heats. All their features will be run Saturday along with another
complete show in the Ufo Super Late Models paying $6000 to win.
In the 12-lap Cyclone feature it was John Diehl of Bedford taking the win.
