Dear Parent/Carer,
It has been an absolute pleasure seeing the ‘fruits’ of the work with
Storrington and Pulborough Rotary Club. The 25 Year 7s on Monday at Lodge
Hill were an absolute credit to Rydon. They showed enterprising skills from
creativity with the flower arrangements, time management with the service
of three courses and risk taking in performance. I would like to give full credit
to all the Year 7s that took part and a Headteacher’s Award to all, to
acknowledge their commitment and energy.
The 25 Year 8s on Wednesday gave their presentation to guests from Rotary
and the Year 7s. The pupils showed their team working, leadership skills and
were able to explain the enterprise skills they used, especially problem
solving, resilience, creativity and independence. Once again, I would like to
give a Headteacher’s Award to all the pupils who took part for their resilience
and for completing the course. I would like to say a huge thank you to the
Rotary for their continued support, it is very much appreciated.
Our technology designers in Year 8 have been working with one of our
Governors, Mr Clayton Hutchings and Mrs Liley to produce the most fabulous
creative benches. There are four in all and the first two have arrived. Well
done to the pupils who have completed the whole process and a
Headteacher’s Award will go to them for their commitment, creativity and
resilience.
Smart Watches
Please be aware that Smart Watches are not permitted to be worn during the school day. We would advise that
these watches are not brought into school at all, but if worn, they must be locked away at all times in a secure
locker. This is in line with the College Mobile Phone Policy.
