Good Neighbor Program
The Good Neighbor Program is a project of the Friends of Rock Bridge Memorial State Park (FoRB) to recognize and
support the efforts of park neighbors who take practical and meaningful steps to maintain the health of the park. Upon
attesting to the statements below by initialing them, and providing the requested contact information, FoRB will provide
you with a yard sign recognizing your commitment to be a Good Neighbor to the park and add your name to a list of Good
Neighbors on our website. This program is entirely voluntary and operates on the good faith of the persons who choose to
participate.
If you do sign up, we will contact you once a year to see if you would like to continue to be part of the program. All you
have to do to continue will be to fill out a new form for our records, and let us know if you would like a replacement sign. If
you do not wish to continue, we request that you do not display the sign, and if possible, drop it off at the park office.
As a member of the Friends of Rock Bridge Memorial State Parks Good Neighbor Program, I* attest to the following
where applicable**
_____ 1. I will ensure my on-site wastewater treatment system is constructed, operated and maintained following the
recommendations of the Boone County guidelines to Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems and Soil Properties.
_____ 2. I will become familiar with watershed protection and storm water issues and, where possible, use best
management practices (BMPS) to minimize the flow of storm water into streams and sinkholes.
_____ 3. I will survey my property at least once a year to monitor for the presence of invasive plants, and if found, take
steps to remove them and/or prevent the production of seeds that can be spread by birds onto park property.
_____ 4. I will become familiar with the impacts of pets on wildlife and I will keep my pets leashed and under control
within park boundaries, and pick up after them.
_____ 5. I will become familiar with Rock Bridge Memorial State Park, rules, policies, programs, resources and staff, and
with issues facing parks in urbanizing areas, so that I am comfortable contacting the park with my questions and
concerns.
