The safety of our students and staff is our number one priority. In partnership with the Saskatoon Police Service, all
Saskatoon schools conduct two lockdown drills a year. One is in the fall and one is in the spring. In the coming
weeks, our school will be conducting our school lockdown drill. A school lockdown alerts staff and students that an
imminent danger exists inside or just outside the school. School personnel lock classroom doors and windows.
Students and staff move away from the windows and doors and remain in their classrooms until directed by
emergency personnel that it is safe to leave. Students and staff will be notified that it is a drill. If you require more
information about lockdown procedures, please contact Mrs. Cratty.
As a reminder for school zones:
o The speed limit is 30 kms/hr;
o U-turns are prohibited; U-Turns in school zones; whether at an intersection or not are illegal - $90.00 fine.
o Parking is allowed in designated areas only;
o Stopping or parking is not allowed in a school bus loading zone;
o Jaywalking is prohibited; pedestrians must cross at intersections or marked crosswalks;
o Please do not pick up students or drop them off in the staff parking lot.

MILK PRICE INCREASE
Effective April 1, 2017 milk containers have been added to the provincial recycling program allowing containers to be
returned to SARCAN depot for a refund. This also means that there will be a deposit of 10¢ charged on each 250 ml of milk
as well as a 3¢ environmental handling fee. This results in a cost increase to our milk. Starting April 24 th we will be
increasing the cost of individual milk to $1.00. Milk cards will increase from $15.00 to $18.00 for 20 milk. Any existing milk
cards will still be honored.

address(es) provided at the beginning of the year to one or both the mother and father of the student. Most schools are
sending information home via this method and we would like to play our part to reduce our paper use. We will change the
format of the newsletter to a letter size page for those who wish to print the newsletter at home. Newsletters are always posted
