George Sakellaris, the
president and chief
executive officer of
Ameresco Inc., founded
the energy-efficiency and
renewable-energy company
in April 2000. Today,
Ameresco is traded on the
New York Stock Exchange
and employs over 1,000
in more than 70 offices
throughout North America
and the United Kingdom.
Prior to founding Ameresco,
Sakellaris established NEES
Energy, which he purchased
in 1991 and renamed
NORESCO. Among his many
industry honors, Sakellaris
received the 2015 Finance
Monthly CEO Award.
